track conditions are no bueno right now for the North South Shootout at Concord, they have been racing/qualifying in this all day too .

Three of my buddies competed in the Ministock feature, Matt Sonnhalter in the 33 VW truck, Pete Zaikarite in the 07 Acura, and Mitch Bombard in the 10ct Saturn.

they postponed both World of Outlaws World Finals and the North South Shootout to Sunday afternoon.

I was supposed to go to East Carolina Motor Speedway today but the whole thing just ended up being a mess. A few days ago they announced that if it rained out on Saturday they'd run on Sunday. The forecast never improved and I didn't want to risk having to make the 2 1/2 hour trip twice in one weekend so I decided to stay home even though they decided they were going to press on despite the forecast for 80% chance of rain most of the afternoon. After agonizing over the radar for a few hours I finally decided there was a chance they could race and decided to go since I could still make it in time. If I was just going as a spectator it wouldn't have mattered much but I was offered money to go record the races so I didn't want to pass up the opportunity. When I was almost an hour from home they got a rain shower and immediately cancelled the race and decided it would be postponed to December 5th instead of tomorrow. It was really frustrating, their communication on social media was giving mixed signals about the likelihood of them getting the race in today and when it would be made up. I'm sure if they would have just called the race early this morning and moved to Sunday they would have had a strong crowd and stronger car count with the good forecast for Sunday and not racing head to head against local football games.

That's awesome. I somehow don't remember them ever racing at eldora even tho it says 2006 was the last time.

I'm disappointed by the CARS Tour schedule. All of the races are in the Carolinas, none in Virginia. If they're going to have such a short schedule I don't understand why they're going to three tracks twice in one season. The closest track to me is Southern National at a 3 & 1/2 hour drive.

Have to agree with ya there, Hopefully they add some more races/tracks in 2017. Would be cool to see a CARS Tour race at any of the major VA tracks. Very happy that Concord is returning next season though as there hasn't been much racing on the half mile in several years (2015 was the first since 2011 or 2012 with 3 big races, and now 4 for 2016 between the North South Shootout, CARS Tour and PASS)
