I guess they will be announcing replacement sponsorship within the coming weeks.

Since I just moved to the area of Spartanburg, stumbled across James Hylton's ARCA race shop and learned that HScott Motorsports is headquartered in the old Phoenix Racing shop, only 15 minutes away. Found out there's an abandoned track on some fairgrounds near here too. Found this article which explains NASCAR in Spartanburg and found it a really interesting read.

My girlfriends' dad lives in Greenville, SC. Where exactly is the HScott Motorsports shop?

So NASCAR are going to do some aero tests at Michigan. The drivers want to try some tests with less aero on the cars, but NASCAR is adamant that its suggestion of more downforce and less horsepower is the way to go. :slaphead:

Yeah sounds like they're going to try 2 different combos: Less downforce, with stickier tires. Along with more downforce with less horsepower, with driver adjustable track-bar.

The RTA has expanded to 18 full-time NASCAR teams, which means 37 cars now fall under the RTA...

BK Racing
Circle Sport
Front Row
Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates
Germain Racing
Go Green / FAS Lane
Hendrick Motorsports
HScott Motorsports
Joe Gibbs Racing
JTG Racing
Michael Waltrip Racing
Phil Parsons Racing
Richard Childress Racing
Richard Petty Motorsports
Roush Fenway Racing
Stewart-Haas Racing
Team Penske
Tommy Baldwin Racing

Just trying to think of ones left out of this - Leavine Family Racing, Jay Robinson (unless he falls under the MWR banner), Randy Humphrey (who isn't full-time anyway), and most interestingly, Furniture Row.

I like the idea of the RTA, and hopefully good things can come out of it.

***EDIT***

Dustin Long just tweeted that they would have had to run 95% of the races in the last two years to be a member. Makes sense now.

It's pretty much just Northeast of Greenville on I85. Probably about 30 minutes depending on how fast you drive. As far as I know they only house the #51 Sprint Cup team. The Turner Scott shop is in Moorseville, NC.

That's the address.
195 Jones Rd
Spartanburg, SC 29307

Looks like JGR will be announcing their new drivers for '15 on Tuesday.

Earl :yuk: for Sprint Cup, and Daniel Suarez, likely for Nationwide.

Some details about the 2015 rules package test on Monday… Some of it sounds promising while others are cringe-worthy.

The 9 inch spoiler with the dive planes would be great if they keep the same amount of horsepower.

It's all pointless unless they make it physically impossible for the front end/bumper/splitter/valance/whatchamacallit from being sealed off to the ground during cornering.
