*They're* :p

Also, the '01 Loudon race where there were 42 cars was a "special" case, I guess. The 96 Cal Wells team folded between 9/11 and when the race actually took place, so I'm not sure when the last "legit" short field was (i.e. when a team just chose not to make the trip for whatever reason).

**EDIT**

Jayski's saying it was the 27 team that folded at the end of '01 causing the shortage at Loudon, not the 96. Huh. My bad, I guess.

Bizarrely, the Nationwide entry is much bigger at 47.

I would've thought Pritt-Stick would be more appropriate considering his general career trajectory.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

This is the biggest Nationwide field I've seen in a while. Jake Crum got re-approved to run on tracks larger than 1.25 miles and will be in the #86 car for the Nationwide race this week.

Kyle Busch apparently said "Is the M&M's contract signed yet?" on the cool-down lap after Sunday's race. You can definitely take that several different ways. Either he's on the verge of extending with M&M's for himself (and doesn't think he should because Carl won the race), or... I have no idea what to think, but I have a feeling M&M's won't be signing with Carl. It's just too much of a weird fit, sponsor-wise.

I think it was because he was pissed at someone and wanted to retaliate.

Boooo......Nascar are a bunch of pussies.

Quote:
Indianapolis Motor Speedway will delay apron project: Seldom has an eight-foot-wide stretch of asphalt been so anticipated and yet so delayed. But as preparations build for next month's NASCAR race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, track officials have decided another year must pass without the apron, the proposed racing room below the white boundary line in each corner. The reason: NASCAR officials want time to study the effects of changes made to the track. The Brickyard 400 is July 27. IMS had planned to begin apron installation June 9, the day after its vintage car weekend, but NASCAR thought that was too late. "They asked if we could postpone (the project) so they could test it," IMS president Doug Boles said Tuesday. "We said, 'That makes sense; we understand that.' " Boles said the heavy Indiana winter delayed several IMS projects, including the installation the asphalt sections totaling more than a mile in length. With spring-like weather late to arrive, IMS officials didn't want to risk the added surface not being ready for Indianapolis 500 activities in May.(Indianapolis Star)(6-25-2014)

Former NASCAR Truck Series Driver Brian Rose appears to be in some big trouble.

He had a drug suspension in the early 2000's. This is a much more serious problem this time around. I guess the car he ran in the ARCA race at Daytona this year came from scammed money. It said that race cars were seized during the investigation.

I'm sure he was arrested at one point in regards to drugs.

It's cool to see guys still being able to race at that age. I just worry about their reaction times sometimes. I'm sure we've seen some of the really old guys in ARCA just plow into accidents, but that might just be because it's ARCA.
