DW's car sounds like it's running a V6 in this race.

I thought for sure he was going to take over the #31 after Justin Allgaier move to the Cup series. No idea who is going to drive the #31 Nationwide Car now.

Whaat. That's a step down from Turner-Scott, for sure. Not only that, but isn't his father-in-law one of the owners of TSM?? I'm guessing there's a Cup owner getting his fingers in the pie in there somewhere. Probably Mikey. I'm just making assumptions, however.

All that unless, of course, he cheated on his wife and they booted him off the team. :lol:

Someone on RuRa said it's because TM has no plans to go to Cup and there might be some deal in place to see him in Cup with one of the Toyota teams in the future, hence the switch to a Toyota team in NW now.

Isn't that what they're kinda doing with Allgaier and the 51, though?

I think that's just Harry Scott. I may be wrong but I believe that operation is separate from the Turner Scott organization.

Ah... the number font and the choice of Allgaier as a driver kinda had me thinking it was all the same deal, but I do believe you're right. That's all Harry Scott's deal.

It's almost like NASCAR proposed a bunch of stupid ideas knowing we would hate them in an attempt to please us when they weren't implemented... even though they shouldn't have been proposed in the first place.

Changes to the package include statically setting the race car ride height and eliminating the pre- and post-race front height rules and inspections. Additionally, the 2014 package includes:
a square leading edge on the splitter;
side skirt and rear fascia adjustments;
an eight-inch rear spoiler;
a 43-inch by 13-inch radiator pan.

Uh, wow.

Read the transcript from the NASCAR Teleconference with Gene Stefanyshyn:

Q. For those of us that are not the most mechanically oriented, it appears that you've pretty much added front and rear downforce, overall front and rear downforce and tried to do some work as far as ability when the cars are side by side?

GENE STEFANYSHYN: Yeah. I think it's important to set the expectations here.

MORE DOWNFORCE!!!!! Thats why the racing sucked. They didn't have enough downforce. Now I get it.... :lol:

7 1/4".

Can someone explain to me this radiator pan business? Are they talking about the ductwork between the radiator and nose?

I'm guessing it's the overall size of the radiator unit.

That was about the size of the rad in my old merc.

The radiator pan is essentially the bottom of the radiator duct work. Being under the car, the shape and size affects the air flow under the car, which affects the downforce. I'm not sure how this particular change affects it, but I'm guessing it increases downforce based on the other changes.

Meanwhile in Trucks, Eddie Sharp's new business partner has apparently fucked him over:
Quote:
Sharp Gallaher Racing laid off virtually all of its employees yesterday in the aftermath of an apparent dispute between partners Eddie Sharp, Jr. and Bill Gallaher. SGR employees were informed yesterday that the team is shutting down, and all but one employee was reportedly laid off. Multiple sources say the shutdown occurred after Gallaher informed Sharp that his services would no longer be required. Sources close to the situation say the team may subsequently be reopened under Gallaher's sole ownership. Sharp was unavailable for comment today, attempts to contact Gallaher were unsuccessful.(Godfather Motorsports)(12-17-2013)

So there's gonna be probably less than 15 full time truck teams and drivers? That really sucks.
