Chase Elliott's time was disallowed by ARCA but apparently NASCAR came over and wouldn't allow ARCA to DQ them. Sounds like somebody's pulling some strings...

I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that Chase has to run that race before NASCAR approves him to run the Nationwide race.

Spencer Gallagher and Tyler Reddick also had their times disallowed. Mark Thompson is also starting from the rear after suffering a busted radiator in qualifying.

If that's the case, wouldn't it have made more sense if NASCAR convinced Hendrick/Dale Jr (can't recall who actually owns the #9 on the ARCA side) to buy Chase a spot into the field?
Why should NASCAR tell ARCA "No, fuck you, he's legal. Now take this briefcase of money and don't say a word"?

ARCA cars bumped: Bobby Gerhart, Leilani Munter, Justin Boston, Tyler Reddick and Spencer Gallagher. Three were top-three.

Munter and Boston are high enough in owner points to make the field.
