I remember watching the '98 Atlanta race back on Eurosport, now that was a long night...

Yeah, defnitely! I remember being up at midnight and the race still had plenty left... Grade 10, and school the next morning. I knew I'd pay for it, but I wanted to watch.

Same here. 9 years old, having to wait for my parents to fall asleep so they wouldn't catch me up past curfew. :p

Hearing its going straight to 11AM Tuesday for a delay by tweets from JPM and Kenny Wallace. Silly to not even try it tomorrow if you ask me...

I saw "9 years old", then immediately felt OLD. :( Then I realized I was 15, so it's not that big an age difference I guess. I then realize that race was 13 years ago, and you kinda wonder where the hell time has gone!

The forecast for the next 36 hours is 100% rain - 5-7 inches worth.
I know Joey lives near the track but I've heard from other people that the local forecast for Tuesday isn't good either, maybe he knows more?

Hopefully they'll get it in Tuesday.

I was there, and was there to the end. Met Humpy Wheeler on the way out of the track, which was awesome, so I was glad we stuck to the bitter end. Missed class the next morning for obvious reasons.

And Ian, I no longer live near the track. I moved a month or so ago down to Valdosta, which is 200 plus miles south of the track. I think my home track is Daytona now.

The Tuesday chance for rain, btw, is 70%.

Hopefully not too many people at the track have to miss the race Tuesday. Would suck to go all the way there, just to have it taken away by mother nature and job commitments.

Timing is good for me though. I should be able to catch the finish of the race on my lunch break.

Well, Joey is the best "source" for every racing about Atlanta. I hope for him (and us and Nascar) there's no rain tuesday :p

Well, i'm out. It's about 4am here. Time to bed!

Bonne Nuit les Gens! A Mardi!

Good Night everyone! see you Tuesday!

I don't live there anymore. I moved a month ago. The area needs the rain badly, it hadn't rained since right before I left, so of course it would rain on the day of the NASCAR race. I can't really tell you much about the forecasts for Tuesday and the chances of racing, so your guess is as good as mine.

I kind of hope it rains on Tuesday, and they have to stretch the race to November. I miss Atlanta having the season finale.

The same system that is hitting Atlanta should be here in Bristol by in the morning, we're supposed to have non stop rain through Wednesday.

With the crazy weather, ending or delaying college football games all weekend, now screwing over the race tonight... our luck, Katia will play all sorts of havoc with Richmond by next weekend.

So the Chase cut off race would be Chicago instead of Richmond I assume?
