"KOMA Modified Tour" at Anderson Motor Speedway. Pretty neat little track over there. Decent side by side racing with the modifieds. Tim Brown was pretty much class of the field. Ran around in the top 3 for the first half of the 125 lapper. Took off and lead the second half after the break. If I get the chance too I'll definitely get back out there for one of the NASCAR Whelen LMS races.

Few videos

Tim Brown and Burt Myers battled pretty much the whole night when they were together.

Anybody have some suggestions for local tracks near Vermont, I'm moving to the north part of the state in a week or two. I'm already familiar and have been to the tracks in New York on that side, and I already plan on checking out Thunder Road, Bear Ridge and Devils Bowl, but what else is near there that's worth checking out?

Of those you mentioned, I've only been to Devils Bowl (before it was paved) and off the top of my head, can't think of any others.

My local track, South Georgia Motorsports Park, was seized by the Georgia Department of Revenue.

Apparently the track owners owe $90,000 in back taxes.

(In semi-related news, today was a bad day to take a midday break from work.)

My highlights from last night's controversial NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour race at Langley Speedway:

Burt Myers has one of the most annoying voices I've ever heard.

Andy Bozell crashes during the Call of the Wild at Kalamazoo Speedway

The amazing thing is it looks like the air actually got under the car and lifted it a bit when it first started to go around, not something you normally see at a short track.

That GIANT fin on the left side of the car probably had something to do with that.

Four cars for a 200 lap race... The Hooters Pro Cup Series is officially a joke... Definitely not going to the race at Lonesome Pine in a couple weeks now.

You mean it wasn't officially a joke when the car count hit single digits like two years ago?

No, then it was sad. Now it's laughing hysterically at the organizers of the series for even bothering to continue with this crap. Why? Are they proud of themselves for saying, "Hey Jeremy Mayfield, you used meth and you're a criminal bastard, but hey we'll be glad to welcome you over here in our series. It used to be the greatest short track series in the country, but hey, at least now you have a 20% chance of winning! You can even continue to do meth! What the hell, we don't care! That way we can promote our race to the fans that this is where you can see former NASCAR Sprint Cup winner Jeremy Mayfield race! Oh, and also, the brother of Sprint Cup champion, Brad Keselowski, Brian races here too! He's nowhere near as and will never be the talent that Bob and Brad were, but hey, he's a Keselowski! Come here and watch us race! Only $25 a ticket!"

I can imagine my uncle who has no phone and who knows nothing about the internet, who goes to Lonesome Pine religiously every week, thinking back to when Johnny Rumley, Bobby Gill and Danny O'Quinn raced in the series and remembering how cool those races were and thinking, hey, this series is coming back! I'll go watch it! Only to get there and see 4 cars running a 250 lapper.

Little bit of a rant, I know... but that's just me I guess.

On a side note, looks like local boy Caleb Holman is dominating and will win the title, so, good for him, but what good is it when you have less than 15 drivers scoring points the entire season?

Even iRacing counts it as an unofficial race if there are less than 8 cars. It is sad as heck though. Some of the best short track racing there ever was, during its hey days.
