I had to go to sleep with 70 laps to go as the cautions took forever. The racing wasnt too bad but the coverage was horrendous.

Glad that for me, a wreckfest is no sign of a bad weekend, and the racing inbetween was very tasty, specially the first half of the NxS and the first 20 laps of the last green run of the NSCS, but also good part of the duels and the rest of the 500 itself. As for the ending, 9/10, very tense and then a rollercoaster of emotions, I'm really happy that I chose this speedweeks to start casting. Wouldn't be able to leave with myself if I decided to no do it. Onto Atlanta, to see how the stages affect the racing there.

Jesus. Daytona Rising was a $400 million project and they still didn't fix the bathroom problem? I went to the 500 in 2005 and I just stood in line for 30 laps before I got to the bathroom. I figured Daytona would have fixed that when the stands were redone.

This Daytona 500 was great for me for this... I grew up a Rusty Wallace fan in the very early 90s. He never won a restrictor plate race. I became a Kurt fan when he took over the 2 car. Kurt was 0 for 63 on plate tracks. Finally I saw one of my drivers win a Cup RP track after over 25 years. And it was the biggest.

I had the luxury of fast forwarding through the eons of cautions in all three races so my judgement is a bit less clouded by red mist but that's how the 500 ought to be. I was worried it was going to be a single file parade for 90% of the race but by golly they raced all the way and raced hard and when you race hard, you're going to have wrecks. I love it when they go for it like that from the drop of the green.

The mandatory genitalia check is slowing down bathroom lines these days.

Everyone goes to the middle concourse instead of using the ones on like the 4th level. I just walked up to the top and used those, no lines. The ones downstairs on level 3-2 were insane.
