Hockenheim was also forced to make expensive and major track changes in order to keep the GP. That and the fact they pay so much for the privilege of running a GP really pushed up the ticket prices and now less people are willing to pay it. As people pointed out, once Schummy retired the first time, the interest just wasn't there any more.

Now grandstands have become huge Rolex billboards.

No that's the thing. They didn't have to change a thing, Bernie was happy. It was an egomaniac project by the county government. There's a brilliant documentary on it, albeit in German. That's what makes this butchery and the resulting financial problems that track had ever since then even more annoying. They inflicted it themselves, without any necessity.

That's an interesting piece of information.

Here's the documentary, if you're interested and have some knowledge of the German language:

Mid-ohio might be a great track to drive, but not that much to watch the race on TV

Well he's definitely out at the end of the season, but question is if he'll even see out the season. I really wouldn't be surprised if he's gone during the summer break.

How can Kvyat, a GP3 champion, be so slow? He's definitely destroying his career and he knows it.

When your confidence is as shot as his is, it'll show in your performances.

Well Kvyat knows he is a dead man walking. That interview with Sky F1 was just pretty sad, a broken man.
