Hamilton only won last year because he had the best car and a lesser team mate :whistling:

Holy shit I feel for Button. I've never seen him so disgruntled in all his career. And all the penalties ahead. It's like the man does not want to jump back into that car at all. :(

He knew full well what the engine was going to be like when they brought it to Abu Dhabi and it did two (2) laps in the whole test. An average of 1 per day. Could've walked away then and didn't.

If this had happened back in an era where drivers were in control of their contracts/lives/careers, both of them would've slammed the door on that team at some point this year. Two world champions! It's just sad. Pathetic really.

He didn't have a contract, though. McLaren were still choosing between him and Magnussen. Alonso didn't have one either.

Not that I'd want to inflict the Honda on K-Mag either, but Jenson and Alonso could've done something like WEC instead. They'd easily get a top drive. It'd be less money, but the money isn't making it any easier for them at the moment.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I know but it's a valuable, solid driver with experience. You put him up in a car that isn't a crapwagon and he will bring you the odd victoriy and podiums, especially in conditions like these.

Didn't Alonso nearly go to Honda in 2008 after the McLaren fallout?

Oh I'm not saying Button's the only one. Just that feeling sorry for him is a bit much when he knew what he was getting into plus he's had his fair share of good luck in the past. I feel more sympathy towards drivers like Heidfeld/Hulkenberg who have never had the chance they deserve.

It was still fully deserved though. After putting up with the shit previously and making the most of when the car was the best out there unlike Rubens.

This is very true, and sometimes I wonder if personality doesn't have something to do with it as well. All the top guys are either models/superstars/funny guys/drama queens/dicks/loudmouths, while when you hear "Hulkenberg" and "Heidfeld" you wonder who the fuck these guys are? I seriously cannot put a face on Hulk, I keep forgetting what he looks like.

Heidfeld does come across as quite boring and anonymous. His Jedi beard never improved that.
