wikipedia wrote:
The Monaco Grand Prix (French: Grand Prix de Monaco) is a Formula One motor race held each year on the Circuit de Monaco. Run since 1929, it is widely considered to be one of the most important and prestigious automobile races in the world and, alongside the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, it forms the Triple Crown of Motorsport. The circuit has been called "an exceptional location of glamour and prestige."

The race is held on a narrow course laid out in the streets of Monaco, with many elevation changes and tight corners as well as a tunnel, making it one of the most demanding tracks in Formula One. In spite of the relatively low average speeds, it is a dangerous place to race. It is the only Grand Prix that does not adhere to the FIA's mandated 305 kilometres (190 mi) minimum race distance.

The first race, held on April 14, 1929 was organised by cigarette magnate Antony Noghès under the auspices of the "Automobile Club de Monaco", and was won by William Grover-Williams driving a Bugatti. The event was part of the pre-Second World War European Championship and was included in the first World Championship of Drivers in 1950. It was designated the European Grand Prix two times, 1955 and 1963, when this title was an honorary designation given each year to one Grand Prix race in Europe. Graham Hill was known as "Mr. Monaco" due to his five Monaco wins in the 1960s. Brazil's Ayrton Senna won the race more times than any other driver, with six victories, winning five races consecutively between 1989 and 1993.

I am a street circuit fan and I am really looking forward to this. I enjoy the history a lot particularly with the 1980s races.

Which series is gonna have a track blocker?

I say GP2, involving Canamassis.

Monaco is so special that I don't feel disappointed even if the race turns out to be snoozefest. The constant risk of crashing out keeps thing exciting, something that all the other tracks lack. Sometimes the FPs are the most eventful sessions of the weekend and definitely worth watching. Not to mention GP2.
Weather looks fine, except for Thursday.

2007 was one of the worst races, like ever.

To be honest I also nodded off more than once, or at least became drowsy. And I also think that the camera-angles are to blame nowadays. Every single lap looks the same with the focus on the ad banners besides the track and the obligatory zoom onto the Zepter logo when the car enters the tunnel, etc. Plus, the runoffs, the simpler Rascasse and St. Devote doesn't help the thrill. But still, it's Monaco and I really like it.

Canamasas did a second in Monaco last year if I remember well.

I will be in an airport during the race, waiting for my flight. And I will miss the Indy 500 because I'll still be on that flight.

Need to plan my holidays better next year.

I agree, a quick pan across to follow a car then a static shot of a massive advertising board once the car have gone out of the camera shot.

monaco is either one of the best races of the season or one of the worst.
Nothing in between.

Sometimes it's in between if you have a decent crash and perhaps a SC with a slower car holding a few cars up.

if Maldonado keeps his form we'll have some red flags

but for better results turn sprinklers on in the tunnel or just allow DRS with detection before Loews

They turn into Tabac slightly earlier now & the track is very slightly shorter:

The barrier on the entry to the 1st part of the swimming pool now also extends out to the kurb.

I like going back and watching old Monaco races from 25-30 years ago and seeing how the city has developed in that time
