The only exception with fast to loud I can think of was when I went to the Indy 500..I said to my mate expect them to be loud like F1 but they were surprisingly quiet. Of course no where near doing as many revs.

Just heard the cars now and sounds alright to me.

Today has been declared a wet test day, so I wouldn't expect anything approaching a representative time. Should give Pirelli something to smile about for once, though.

I got to say the Macca looks really good on the track.

I went to the Canadian GP twice (2005 & 2006) so I got to hear the transition from V10 to V8. And because I sat near the hairpin both years, I could hear all sound characteristics (deceleration, low revs, acceleration). To me, an unlimited V8 would sound louder than the previous year's V10s, minus the Honda. Damn that engine was loud ! The STR was weird though, hearing that familiar sound stopping halfway through its potential lol.

Thankfully I didn't get to go with those castrated V8s lol. Can't wait to go during the new turbo era Not this year though

You have a very good point, and this is a very common contractual term these days. It makes me wonder if Lotus were somehow in breach of his contract - more pay issues, perhaps?

It sounds really good as well.

Ferrari is fairly quiet though.

What are those things on the sidepod? Looks like some sort of exhaust (for warmth???).

Chimneys, like they used to have in 2000 and 2001... I guess Matt Morris brought them back to life when he moved from Sauber to McLaren.

They didn't pay him and won't pay him for the leave I'd imagine, so he's free to do whatever he wants maybe?
