It looks like the Mercedes nose has a cover over the crash structure & its that which got ripped off in the crash:

I just saw the Caterham...
and its easily puts the other cock cars like Mclaren, Force, Williams and others in the shadows
Its absolutley horrible, i hope this green crap wont see Melbourne like this.
Yuck, horrible. FIA do something cuz F1 is becoming porn now. Soon someone will have "Brazzers" as sponsor

If it isn't the noses that are wrong, it's the sound, or something else. Cry me a river. All you do is whine, you are so incredibly shallow, naive and conservative. Have you ever said something constructive?

Speaking of Caterham, I don't see why they put Ericsson in the car today, and not Frijns. Ericsson needs all the mileage he can get before Melbourne, so why put him on day 1, the shakedown day, when the driving is the most limited? McLaren did it right, with assigning Button, and not Magnussen, on day 1 (no matter that the car haven't moved an inch).

BTW loved the Caterham, at least they set the front wing on the tip of the wang, more like a late tyrrell from 1998

Mystery solved - good find! I guess that's a vanity panel, seeing as they are still allowed this year.
