Aye lets get supersofts in, that'll last 3 laps at Silverstone.

Alonso needs to go summon up the power of a samurai using his own miracles or some other bollocks.

Might've. Maybe. It's one of the fastest tracks in the calendar. If it wasn't this tyre choice then nothing other than Barcelona would be.

Anyway it was only a few races ago Alonso was saying they had the best car and Vettels poles mean nothing. What happened to that?

lol it's so obvious these new tyre choices favor certain teams.

Doesn't matter, this race looks like shit once again as an Alonso fan.

But the old tyre choices favoured other teams. There is literally no choice which will please everyone.

Have they brought in the new tyres yet? Or are all four compounds exactly the same as before?

No, there are no new tyres and nor will there be because some teams don't want them and vetoed it.

Thanks. Couldn't remember what the outcome of that whole saga was.

In that case, it's a bit of a difficult one. It's obvious that Pirelli have made different decisions to what they would have done in reaction to everything that's happened, but to anyone who doesn't work for an F1 team it's clear they've done it for PR reasons (fed up of being thrown under the bus after every race) as opposed to favouring any particular team. Which they're perfectly entitled to do under the current system. Best solution would be for Pirelli to pick the compounds for every race at the start of the season (they should have enough data to do that by now), which is then set in stone, but that's obviously far too sensible for the FIA.

Paul di Restas car has been found to be 1.5Kg underweight. Good job Force India. That's not even fucking close.

So what's that? Straight to the back?

Fuck it, just set the car up perfectly and start from the pitlane.

Straight to the back. Knowing Force India they'd try and setup for the race and accidently put qualifying fuel in. I'll add that to the log of fucking moronic errors that Force India have made, screwing their drivers. So far the list is...extensive.

When your race engineer looks at the massive rain cloud over the circuit and thinks "nah slicks will be fine, lets just wait", I guess asking him to count to 642 kg is a big ask.

They're the F1 equivalent of Dyson. The only team which can take a reliable car and engine which can easily run 24 hours, and make them break in 90 minutes at Long Beach.

An easy solution to the teams bitching about what tyre compounds Pirelli opt to take to each race is to allow each team to select which 2 compounds they want to run at each race 2-3 weeks before each race.

If Ferrari think the Soft/Medium are right for Silverstone they could run them, If Mercedes want to run Medium/Hard's let them run them.

Would end bitching about Pirelli's choices benefiting some teams over others, Would also then be 100% the teams fault if they went with the Super-Soft at an abrasive track like Barcelona & ended up making 4-5 stops while someone on Hard's could do 1-2.

Having said all that I'd still rather the rules & restrictions about what compounds are available & what teams have to run be removed, Giving teams/driver full freedom over what tyres they run & what strategy they decide to run, Like the good old days before refueling screwed everything up ;)

That's not even close to an "easy" solution lol. Now that way they can't plan production, AND they'd have to be able to run more production lines. That's a MASSIVE change in operations.

And just because they've brought hard tyres to a track which kills tyres, doesn't mean they won't go the other way at another circuit. Will Alonso still keep up the moaning then? Or does that come under the miracle category?
