I've warmed to it, they've tried to make it look a little less sparse. It isn't the best track in the world but neither is it the worst.

Oh, and I've finally agreed with Ant Davidson on something - he was saying how the final corner in Bahrain sets it up nicely for overtaking and then went into a spiel about how some circuits make the mistake of having slow corner > straight in the belief that it aids overtaking, whereas it doesn't.

Well in some ways. They've also put down sand coloured astroturf..which is so bland that I feel fantastically bored just saying it. Sand...coloured...astroturf.

Talking of astroturf, did anyone else notice how green the circuit was in China last weekend? I don't remember the circuit edges, some run offs and surroundings being so colorful before.

I thought it kinda suit the surrounding landscape and gave it a unique look somehow, better than artificial grass which would look out of place (edit: about Bahrain)

A race in the desert really is a great idea, just not well exploited here unfortunately.

I look at the circuit and I know it is a circuit I should like. It has some nice fast sweep corners, overtaking spots and a bit of gradient. But it just looks so formulaic and the surroundings just add to the disappointment.

A few of the run-offs were changed prior to the race weekend. More painted 'GrassCrete' had been added.

That and it was less smoggy.

And I guess I'm a little biased as having races in Bahrain/Abu Dhabi is good for F1Zone :p

Back to the race weekend, here's our exclusive with Bottas.

But the final corner in Bahrain is a slow one, as well :?

This is not usual but, this weekend, I'm more excited about MotoGP in Austin and FIA GT in Zolder than on F1. If the Bahrain race would clash with any of these events, I would chose them over F1 here. Not even mentioning WEC, ALMS or Grand Am which would get me thinking in most races of the F1 calendar

The track is so unchallenging and boring. All it requires from the drivers is to get the braking right

Its slow but not overly slow. He compared it to the final corner at Interlagos.

He was basically saying that it's not so slow that it ends up been about traction on the exit where the car ahead is able to get on the power sooner & pull a big gap (Which is the biggest problem at Abu-Dhabi & was at Valencia).

Also said its a corner where you can gain a lot of time if you get it right but can lose a lot of time if your a bit conservative & that this also aids overtaking opportunities.

Wow if me and kals can agree something odd is going on.

We should be sent outside the circuit to calm down the protesters...

Wait....hang on. No thanks

Nope. I will be at another racetrack, luckily.

And I will be at the ten miles of Antwerp.

Wonder if Kimi complains the car being "weird" again, as it has happened in FP3 twice already this season.

Poss failure of HAM's rear tyre relates to the "change" being talked about with Pirelli. Related to glue betw/ metal and tread block

Hopefully not something thats going to turn into a bigger problem with more of the tyres.
