 The first race at Kyalami 57 years ago was also the first points paying GP to be held in a monday, given it was the first non church day in the Commonwealth Also Pedro Rodríguez first win and also the first one for Mexico |

Remember when the F1 season used to start in January. The last such occasion was 1982 when Prost won a crazy race in Kyalami

All I remember from the race was Prost fighting back to win after suffering a puncture. The drivers' protest leading up to the race is an interesting read, though. Weirdly, I could tell you something about most of the races from 1982. But anything from 2010 - 2022 all blends into one. |
