Noticed there was a 2011 thread, so thought a 2012 one would be appropriate.

Kicks off with the young driver test next month (although technically not pre-season but what the hell, there will be 2012 parts on the car).

Line up so far for the YDT is:
Red Bull - Jean Eric Vergne
Sauber - Fabio Leimer & Esteban Gutierrez
Williams - Mirko Bortolotti
Renault - Kevin Korjus
STR - Stefano Coletti

Charles Pic will test something - probably the STR or Force India

More to be added, obviously

Not sure if it is confirmed, but I can imagine:

- Jules Bianchi at Ferrari
- Robert Wickens at Virgin

He can't because its only open to drivers with no F1 experience.

Stefano Coletti will test for STR.

They should pull a Moto GP on this and actually televise it.

And then give away a brand new car for the fastest driver... oh wait, the manufacturers wouldn't allow that :(

The teams wouldn't allow that. A tennis racket is also a big no-no.

Kevin Korjus testing at Renault 8)

Hopefully Charles Pic gets a test, he deserves a chance.

No, McLaren is a partner of Specialized. So that wouldn't be an option either.

From what I've heard, Pic has been rumoured as a strong candidate for the Virgin seat for 2012. In Abu Dhabi, he might test either, or all of Force India, STR and Virgin. Probably lots of contracts to sort out as these tests can cost up to $500k for a day, if not more
