I like this track actually. And DRS should add to a fun experience!

It's probably the only Tilke's tracks that has actually improved by the upgrade. Last few races at Hungaroring has been quite ok, so I expect Spanish events to be left behind in terms of entertainment this season.

I expect as much overtaking as in Barcelona. More than last year, but still not worth mentioning it. DRS won't work on the start finish line.

Last year's race was good because of the strategy, and the question will Webber make it. But there was no other action on the track. The only good race was 2006.

Disagree. I think it will work. This track is no-where near as bad as Barcelona IMO. I guess Sunday we will see if it works or not though.

and the first 5-6 races were also really good. Remember Boutsen winning it in 1990, or the overtaking by Piquet, drifting on the outside, one of the best manouevres ever in F1.

Back then, because of the combination of heat and unreliable cars the races were quite entertaining. If half the field would retire now, at least we would have something to talk about when there is no overtaking.

The Pirelli tyres may suffer a high wear rate here, could be an intresting race from a tyre management view

the race where Hill almost won in an Arrows (1997) was also great. Just the fact he lead the race was a big surprise.

Two drivers have something to celebrate beforehand

It's Button's 200th Grand Prix while Rosberg has his 100th.

And to think I was so proud when my hero Alesi made the 200 mark. Now you have failed as a driver if you don't reach 200

I think now with starting so young and slightly longer seasons, getting to 300 is going to be the real biggie

yep, true. Now drivers start in F1 at the age of 20-21, with seasons of almost 20 races... If they race 12-15 seasons they will have 240-300 races.

Vettel could make 400 if he stays for the duration :p

DRS zone will be on the pit straight

Post subject:  Re: 2011 Formula 1 ENI Magyar Nagydíj

DRS should really improve overtaking here, because you can easily follow another car in the last turn and with that speed difference it should be really easy. And you dont have to be so careful in the first turn, like for example on the NGK chicane, which is very tricky...

Post subject:  Re: 2011 Formula 1 ENI Magyar Nagydíj

DRS should work here. We often see that on the straight on the Hungaroring cars can get close, but simply is not long enough to do a real overtaking manoeuvre, so with the DRS that should be possible.

Looking forward to this.

I trust Autosport, and they say it'll be dry

Quote:
Friday should dawn dry, with some sunny periods along with patchy cloud for first practice. Cloud will build up during the break between sessions and it could be overcast in time for the afternoon session. There is an outside chance of afternoon showers, but any rain is more likely after the Formula 1 track activity has been concluded. Temperatures will rise to a much more hospitable 25 degrees during second practice.

The potential for showers will fade on Friday evening to leave a dry night with temperatures no lower than 16 Celsius - higher than it was at the Nurburgring during the daytime.

Saturday will deliver the best of the weekend's weather with strong sunshine for much of the day and just a few light patches of cloud dotted around. Temperatures will climb to 26 or possibly 27 Celsius and track surface temperature should just touch the 40-degree mark during qualifying.

Race day will start out as a carbon copy of Saturday with clear skies and warm early morning sunshine, but cloud is expected to build from the north throughout the support race action and into the early afternoon. It could be rather cloudy with just a few sunny intervals remaining by the time the grand prix gets underway, but it will remain dry with a maximum of 26 degrees Celsius.
