I love the first turn here....

I'm still waiting for someone to cruise right around the outside of the car in front and get the inside line for turn 2,
I don't think it's actually been achieved yet.

Rest of the circuit, meh, nice long straight I suppose, but only really the long turn 1 into turn 2 does it for me.

Oh, and it won't rain! :p

Didn't Alonso do something like that on Massa in 2007 if I remember correctly?

Anyway I hope another team that isn't Red Bull can get pole here so we can have a race that is a bit more interesting at the front.

Showery Friday, wet Saturday, dry Sunday - probably

Temperatures are likely to vary quite widely during the weekend, with maxima of 25 Celsius on Friday, but just 16 or 17 degrees during the dull and damp Saturday, and rising a little to 20 or 21 degrees on race day itself.

The current forecast is by no means set in stone, and the whole weekend hinges on the speed and trajectory of the low moving in from western China. There is a slight possibility that the low will edge south - just enough for most of the rain and showers to miss Shanghai - but it is more likely that we are looking at a showery weekend to come.

If they legalise it there, then they should allow the car in front to use it when it is overtaken.

Since the straight is so long you could have the car behind activating its DRS, sailing past the car in front, then the car behind using his, re-overtaking, and it could go on like this a couple more times before the braking zone.

Would be fun to see tbh :p

If you overtake someone just after the DRS activation zone (like in Malaysia if you did it after the line where you have to be within 1s but before the activiation zone), can you use DRS to defend all the way through the zone?

No, Webber passed Kobayashi in the last corner, but wasn't able to use DRS. Kobayashi could. And else, it will be disabled when a driver hits the brake.

He hit debris from Buemi's Toro Rosso.

“Something came off Sébastien Buemi’s car, which was just in front of me, and hit the floor of my car,” explained the GP2 Champion of 2010.

“The fire extinguisher went off and the electrics cut out. It was a shame I couldn’t finish the race as the car felt good. However, we could have pitted a bit earlier for fresh tyres, but we thought we were going to have some heavy rain.”
