I'm not sure why, but I didn't find it anywhere near as good as China. Maybe it was the lack of a battle for the lead or something. It was obvious that Vettel was going to win. The DRS seemed to make things so easy this time as well. There were some really good battles, but also a lot of times where one car would just breeze by on the straight.

Last few seasons I would have given this a really high score, but we're being spoilt with really good races so far. So only a 6 from me. I just didn't get that excited. Weird.

I also felt there were too many pitstops. I don't mind people making 4 stops if there are other people on a super hard compund that can get away with 1 or 2 stops. But most people did exactly the same thing and nobody could make the tyres last.

Lots of love back at ya

Actually, it was champagne and not rose water. Alcohol is not illegal in Turkey. The advertising of alcohol, however, is illegal. Hence no lables on the Mumm bottles, no Johnny Walker logos on the McLaren and no Whyte and MacKay logos on the Force India.

I agree but voted 7. DRS must be allocated in a more alternative overtaking spot on a track like this.

Anyone know what the difference was between Sutil and Perez as they crossed the line - they were side by side behind Vettel?

yeah, they should put the DRS zone in a spot that isn't the main overtaking zone, that way we would have two places for passes and battles. putting it after turn 8 going into the turn 9/10 chicane would have been perfect, that's still a relatively long straight. plus, it would still aid the car to get in the slipstream of the car in front on the run through 11 and down to 12, but you wouldn't just blow by the guy at +20 mph.

There were some passings where faster cars get by easily, some just in place, some not enough. In the first group, they can pass without any aid anyway. The latter two were helped by the DRS properly otherwise the chances are slim. Some people just put too much emphasis on the first group.

Give it a 7, was entertaining and some great fighting. Cant help it's all very artificial though, the DRS was a joke this race, but I guess it still is a learning curve for the governing body to figure out the ultimate location on each track.

Fortunately it seems almost everybody (including TV crews, drivers, teams and fans) are in agreement that DRS was too much here. That should get them to sort it out.

On the plus side, it's better to be too far on the other extreme, that way they can reel it back a bit to sensible levels. :)

Dear Wil,

They don't use Rose Water in Turkey. Alcohol is legal, and as pointed out by several news agencies, Vettel taking a swig of it on the podium was technically underage drinking.

Lots of love,

Everybody.

All they need to do for next year is move the activation zone to after turn eleven rather than before it, although with the lenght of the straights on Tilke circuits is it a bit of a shooting in the dark and hoping for the best exercise.

I'm curious were they will put it in Silverstone. Onto the Hangar Straight or down the new back one?
