Not bad for Pirelli's first times. With rookie drivers and cars that are made for bridgestone tyres.

Pastor is over a second quicker than either HRT driver managed in qualifying. I know the track has rubbered in more but great effort.

Although there will be more rubber, D'ambrosio is also faster than both GLock (by 0.5s) and Di Grassi (1sec) in quali.

Give Ricciardo a seat at Toro Rosso for next year ! I think this is already his 3rd year he's doing these winter tests for Red Bull and he's fastest every year again. Toro Rosso next year and if he proves he's quick, he can move to Red Bull in 2011 or '12. As a replacement to Webber..

+ Felix Da Costa, Pastor Maldonado, Jerome D'Ambrosio
- Paul Di Resta, Jules Bianchi,

EDIT : Da Costa has an great looking helmet imo !
Image
And what is this weird thing on the right hand side of the Williams car ? other picture here

Ricciardo said his time was with low fuel but not Q3 style low fuel.

So in other words Ricciardo, not in Q3 mode, set a faster time than Webber did in Q3

Does make you wonder, doesn't it? You could read so much into that

Chandhok reckons that the track is 1.1-1.4s faster per lap than it was during qualifying. But even then, Ricciardo's pace is very good.

They are measuring the air pressure behind the tyre at various positions, presumably for some reference data to compare to the Pirelly tyres :)
