Welcome. :flag:

Track map:

Image

It is a bad Tilke-track.

Uninteresting facts:

Race Date: 04 Apr 2010
Number of Laps: 56
Circuit Length: 5.543 km
Race Distance: 310.408 km
Lap Record: 1:34.223 - JP Montoya (2004)

Times:

Practice 1 FRI 10:00
Practice 2 FRI 14:00
Practice 3 SAT 13:00
Qualifying SAT 16:00
Race SUN 16:00

It might rain. If it doesn't, please don't whine. It doesn't make anything better because no one will listen. In fact, everything will be much better if you just stop care about race if it doesn't rain.

Sebastian Vettel will probably win.

Will this race happen in the same hour than last year? If it does, I'm predicting another fail...last years "race", If you can call it a race, was a joke.

Race start is about one hour earlier this year.

Rain is always forecast in Malaysia, but strangely there's never been that much (Only 2001 and 2009) but when it does ran, man, it comes down fast and heavy. Race start is indeed 1 hour earlier: 9am for UK viewers.

Alright, Cheeveer, you've been given the opening post. Feel free to edit it how you want.

Next time, people, pay attention to the F1 race thread list. It's stickied for a reason.

I think it was 2007, when I opened Europe, Japan and China (as well as Spain which wasn't that bad), so I had a 75% personal strike rate of wet races and 100% of wet 2007 races were opened by myself, whereas D_A opened every other thread and most of the races were as boring as fuck.

IIRC, there was a lot of people wanted me to open Brazil as well, but I refused since I wanted a nice clean fight in the dry and we ended up with a dry race.

If anyone is remotely interested, in Aerogi's competition I went for 3 wet races, but I've already missed Australia (though my clairvoyant skills might have not been able to pick it up due to the fact it was merely slightly damp).

This is one of the Tilke tracks that I like it has two nice fast high G "S" curves and i like the two straights back to back, some good races here in the past.

Races that I don't watch from the UK tend to be quite good Silverstone 98 (in Spanish, though the man behind the bar was a bit happy with the remote), Silverstone 99 (all the Germans left after the first lap), Germany 00 (all the Germans left after the first lap), Brazil 01 (was dragged around EPCOT so I had to catch a rerun, so maybe that shouldn't count) and Hungary 06 (from France)

I also watched Germany 06 from France as well, but my memory tells me that wasn't particularly good. I'm not particularly a traveller, so once I got old enough to be left behind, I did.

Speaking of anachronisms that make things exciting, every qualifying that i miss turns out to be amazing. Germany 2009, Brazil 2009, Japan 2009, Monza 2008, Monaco 2006 are just a few i can think of. Also, in the day, whenever Marcel missed a race it was amazing (Hungary 2006).

Unfortunately for everyone's sake i will be seeing this weeks qualifying.

I also missed Fuji 2007 btw

The way things are going this thread is going to be far more entertaining than the racing this season!

This Race... Rain - Button Win - Vettel crash - Hamilton strop - Alonso sulk - Schumacher out qualified by both Lotus - Sauber to loose front wing - HRT to score point..

If Vettel has to retire leading the race once again I will prob. give up this years f1 season as we will have a lucky Alonso champion.
