As far as I know there will be no slick tires available in this test so I doubt any teams will do any '09 testing.

interesting how some teams elect to keep the bridge wings and other winglets. Isn't the way to go at Monza as smooth as possible?

Yes and no. With the chicanes slowing everything down you do want to minimize drag but you still need a little bit of downforce to get through the tight turns as fast as possible. It's a bit more of a compromise circuit then it used to be.

The bridge wing primary usage isn't downforce, it's airflow management. It may add some drag, but it could help stabilize the airflow over the car which will make it quicker.

That's true. I was going to argue that the old cars barely ran any wing on the cars at all, front or rear, in order to get as much material out of the air stream as possible, thus reducing drag. But that sort of defeats my own statement about the downforce since the chicanes have been in place for years and years.

The thing under the rear wing? That isn't a shark fin, I don't know what is called. I don't think it has a name actually. And yes it looks a little weird. And it's purpose is airflow management.

Or are you talking about that little wing thingy coming off the side of the bottom of the sharkfin area? There's probably one on the other side too.
