All these talk about HD coverage make me jealous. My local channel is still showing crappy 4:3 quality. Still, if we got same commentators as we had last year, i probably continue watching F1 at RTL, with 16:9 reso and more qood quality..

HD to F1 coverage to here? That would take years to come..

don't worry, F1's still not being produced in HD

I,m not worrying about it, but still, who won,t like to see F1 in HD...
Quality makes a lot

Still..I don,t mind. As i told earlier, i,m pretty sure that i,m gonna watch F1 in RTL again in this season
Plus there is a good thing too..As i,m learning German language it is really helping..
Ich liebe Formel eins

Aren't those digital feeds encrypted? :o

Swedens F1 broadcaster, launched a new channel at the end of last season which is called "Viasat Motor". Its a pay channel but its really good. Its shows every F1 session, practice, qualy and the race. This year they will bring in Stefan Johansson as a commentator which will be very interesting.

The channel also show, Nascar, MotoGP, GP2, GP2 Asia, A1 GP, Superleague Formula and will show STCC this year.

And I forgot. They also has a segment called F1 Archives :) They got the right to show any races from 81. So far theyve only showed races from 2006 and onwards but will start showing classic races in the end of february.

Sounds like my kind of channel...lol

If they EVER have any kind of "e-mail the commentator" section of the show you know what you need to e-mail to Stefan :p

"Hey Stefan....have you ever posted on any online motorsport forums?"

If BBC will have multiple feeds will it be like premiere? Premiere worked with my receiver (push a button to make the subchannel list appear), will this also be the same for the BBC subchannels? Or does this only work on oficial sky receivers?
It won't be like that.

With Premiere, as you say you could make a sub-channel List appear with all the various feeds avaliable through there SportPortal. However the BBCi feeds are not linked like that unless your using an official Sky Reciever or Freeview/Cable box. When using a proper Sky box its actually fairly similar to Premiere once inside the BBC Sports Active screen & on whatever feeds avaliable, While on there Interactice Sports Screen You just press the Number thats attached to the feed you want & while on the various feeds you just press the blue button to bring up a list of other feeds avaliable via a small dropdown menu, also to change Audio-Track you can simply press the Right or Left arrow key.

However outside of an official Box as far as Im aware you just have the 7 seperate channels that contain the different feeds & you have to change the channel to switch feeds. These 7 Channels are usually called 'STREAM-0, STREAM-1 Etc....'.

are those the ones on eurobird 28.2 E? would be cool if they are cause we get them over here! usually they have some news/programs looping over and over... hmmm

In Spain today has been confirmed De La Rosa will continue as commentator in La Sexta, so finally we will have the same Tv-team as last year in Telecinco, fortunately with the exception of Gonzalo Serrano. :)

Martin Brundle was Co-Presenting a local BBC News program this evening & did a Grid-Walk style roam around the studio

Brundle's Grid-Walk is likely to make it onto the BBC Coverage in some form BTW :)

I'm watching tonight's Look East on the BBC now. Brundle wasn't just there for a bit either, he co-presented the entire programme. Amongst other things he was talking about railway developments in Colchester and interviewing a woman about the recent no-pay days for people unable to get to work because of the snow. Weird to see:

Interesting turn-around for him. Guess going to commentary helped him find a new vocation.

If I was out on the streets complaining about unemployment and a F1 driver came to interview me, I think I'd just stare back at him in disbelief.

Was there any particular reason why he was presenting Look East? I know hes from Norfolk and all, but it just seems completely random

It seems they had guest presenters of notable people from the area all week...and also a bit of BBC cross promotion doesn't hurt I guess...

Here is the coverage plan

Quote:
An early schedule for BBC’s F1 coverage posted by Francois shows they will be broadcasting F1 practice sessions live this year.

However it is not yet clear whether the practice session on Saturday will be shown as well as the two on Friday. Last year ITV screened Friday practice live online, but not Saturday’s session before qualifying.

BBC will show practice via the ‘red button’, accessible on digital broadcasts. The schedule also suggests practices may be shown some other way. Here’s what we’ve seen of the schedule:

MELBOURNE - AUSTRALIA
