In the opinion of you, my friends, who most deserved to win the F1 Championship: Hamilton or Massa?
In my view would be Felipe. Won more races, lead more laps, and was much hampered by errors of the team. Lewis did not break any time this year. He was super, but Massa was better.
Thanks guys.

I would say Alonso, what he did in that Renault was amazing, and I'm not an Alonso fan at all

but if I have to choose between Hamilton and Massa, I choose Massa because he driver fair, Hamilton drives like a ****

Shaddix, I agree with you, overall looking at, what Alonso did in the Renault in the second half of the year shows just what a supreme driver he is - however whilst I wanted Massa to win, that doesn't mean Hamilton doesn't deserve it - it just makes me a bit more sad than I would have otherwise have been.

I don't want to start up a discussion again, but without the interference of the FIA it would have been Hamilton in China already.

Things like an engine blowing up, or extracting a fuel hose are very sad but are the mistakes of the team and F1 is a team sport.

Massa and Hamilton both made mistakes and I think that McLaren made less than Ferrari, which leaded to this result. So it's Hamilton in my opinion, since it is a team sport.

+1, the only difference is that I am a admirer of Fernando, not a stupid fanboy, this guy is definitely the best in the field, maybe Vettel, Kubica and a few more can be in his level one day but atm if this guy have a top team car it will be another Schumi days, it would had been already if Mclaren hadn't boycott him.

I voted for Massa cause Hamilton made more mistakes and made a pretty fag race in Interlagos, almost slipped from his hands again.

And at the old system of points, which is the best, Mass win the championship. Won who was most regular, not the one who won more races. I have to agree with the proposal of Bernie Ecclestone, to put medals (golden...) to the winners. The victory has to be more valued. It is little difference in first winning for the second placed. Last year, Lewis, in the first nine races had not won any and was a leader.
New sistem points right now

Massa would of won the championship if it wasn't for all the unlucky things that happened to him. Plus he didn't even score a single points till round 3. He was the best driver for sure.

Vettel ,Alonso and Kubica are my other big standouts.

Still, the other times he was darn unlucky. Look at Singapore for example.

I agree on that, it wasn't his fault but in this case that's the disadvantage of F1 being a team sport.

They both made mistakes but both drove fantastic races as well. It's a close call, just like the championship.

A few years ago I wouldn't have thought that Massa would ever be anything close to championship material. Heck, I thought in his debut year in 2002 that he's a crash kid and on his way out already. But the way he matured over the years, especially at Ferrari with Schumacher as his mentor, is really impressing.

The problem with Lewis is that he never had to fight from the bottom to the top. I'd be curious to know what if Hamilton has started in a back-marker team...?!

Hamilton, he entertained me the most with spectacular driving and amazing overtaking maneuvres. That's what I want to see when I watch a race. Massa drove some good races, but nothing special most of the time to get excited about.

Lewis was the most consistent driver all year of the contenders. Other than that, Kubica despite his tailing off at the end - you can't forget Alonso made some stupid errors as well like in Canada and Valencia

I'm not a Alonso fan, but he is simply the best driver on the grid.
He didn't made the errors Massa and Hamilton did this year, and I hope he will soon got a car for the victory all the season.

But today, I would say Hamilton, even I'm dissapointed Massa didn't got it.

Both two outperformed their teammate throughout the year.
both of them drove the strongest car in 2008 and made most of it.
in my opinion, whichever of two won the championship,he deserved it.
SO I vote Hamilton simply beacause he statistically beat Massa by one point.

Kubica was far more consistent that the top two and moreso than Vettel/Alonso who both had a dire-ish first 6 or so races. Vettel scored 30 points in the 2nd half of the season which shows how poor/uncompetitive the car was in the first half. Same with Alonso

Lewis threw away about 25 points through his own messing up.
Massa about 12 points through his stupidity.

What decided it was that Mclaren where basically perfect whislt Ferrari werent and cost Massa a further 20 or so points.

At the end of the day Lewis won and congrats to him but Massa was Lewis's equal over the course of the season if not better, and no neither car was superior to the other as well before others state that. Like 2007 it varied from race to race just Heikki's ineptitude/reliability woes made the constructors more of a formality. History will tell us it was the closest championship decider ever and its true. Who was more deserving? Personal Preference i guess.
