I love the corner, love the high speed and on the edge feeling. Always a thrill to watch the onboards. Gravel just making it even more challenging now. |

Yeah, the video game generation is so used to driving full throttle over the astro turf they forget a mistake can be punished in F1 these days. And not by "track limits - lap deleted" crap. |

If the track is between the white lines, the car didn't stop there. |

I mean cars technically stop on track in qualifying all the time and no one bats an eyelid - cars spinning and rejoining, or stopping in escape roads on street tracks and reversing back on to the track etc. The only difference here is that the red flag was brought out, but seeing as that isn't mentioned in the regs at all they've got no reason to penalise Sainz. But it's the FIA so watch them do it anyway Also I like the last corner. If you want a truly terrible last corner Long Beach is on this weekend *beats dead horse* |

That rule doesn't mention anything about causing the session to be halted. Is the issue here that the driver in question caused the session to be stopped, then continued, or the fact that the car itself was stopped? I can't see Aston Martin getting anywhere with this protest. I am also wondering if Hamilton will be put on "gardening leave" before the season is over. It's not a case of him losing his ability, he is just not interested in driving the Mercedes anymore. |
