Surprisingly much overtaking though. I remember races here with zero overtaking.

I'm sure if Andretti was let in, they would beat Alpine from the first race on. Even without engine.

Stroll getting lapped cost him two seconds so Tsunoda should hang on to 10th.

Back to normal. Max wins as Red Bull dominates.

if the championship had started in Australia (as it should) Sainz would be championship leader

If Sainz hadn´t had surgery and finished on the podium in Jeddah, he would have lead the championship after Australia.

Sainz certainly is the better Ferrari driver.

Apart from the foregone result up front, that was a good race, some good strategies and ballsy passes!

Albon has now broken both of Williams' chassis.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I suppose Sargeant is being outdone by his team mate in that regard as well; when Sargeant crashes he is not causing as much damage.

remembers 2011, when Red Bulls jumped ahead and the field fought for scraps while their tires decayed

Williams will probably have both cars in China. However, they'll have to take Albon's car to Grove for repairs and then taking it to China. So, there will be the freight bill besides the spare parts bill.

The biggest question mark I see is that they expected to have a spare car ready for Miami. Not sure if this date still holds with extra repair job on their way.

Williams must be careful they dont end up in a situation where the base car is good to get the occasional points but the repair bill gets so high they cant afford to develop the car further.

I don't get to watch too many races these days in full, live, due to my time zone and work commitments.

But if the general consensus is, that yesterday was a bad race, F1 is doing alright if that's as bad as it gets. There was good battles throughout the midfield and towards the front with different strategies. Although Verstappen winning was almost forgone conclusion, from 2nd through 8th was a great battle.

What I didn't like was the fact there was two starts and 1st through 6th didn't change positions on either start. Needs to be a bit more variability in my mind.

There was some good overtakes going into turn 1, Spoon and even 130R too.

Not sure where Albon was hoping to go with that move anyway. The space would've closed up even if Ric hadn't moved and Albon would've had to back off anyway. Ric was trying to arch it out for a better line into the lefthander in order to fend off Stroll and I guess he didn't think anyone would go where Albon went. Glad it's been deemed a racing incident but a really pointless move from Albon in my book, esp. given the parts situation of his team.
