Probably true, which goes back to my original question - why are sponsors in the team name now such a problem, when you almost never see or hear the full team name? I wasn't trying to have a go at anyone in particular, but I was taken by surprise by the reaction to this name as well as Sauber's one (again, the constructor name is a separate issue and I agree that sponsors should generally be kept out of that).

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

This is the way of the internet, especially so with F1 "fans". They'll blow some non-issue completely out of proportion whilst having little to no knowledge of the history of the thing they're complaining about, just for something to do. They'll soon move on to the tyres being the wrong shade of black or something.

It is because it loses the personal connection with the team and thus their identity.

What is the identity of Racing Bulls? It certainly isn't Minardi - he hasn't been involved for nearly 25 years now. The team has been a subsidiary of Red Bull GmbH for so long that if it were a person it would be old enough to vote. The previous constructor name belongs to a company that has never built a car in its existence.

I do believe that the constructor name should be reflective of the team ownership, and in this way, Racing Bulls is perfectly cromulent. It was nice that Stoddart kept the Minardi name for his tenure (and maybe Toto could win some support if he were to put the Tyrrell name back into his team) but there would not have been any problem if he had chosen his own that relates solely to him or his business.

This is not just for F1 fans, that's people on the internet (and in society) in general.
And then you get people who come in complaining about the people that are complaining.

What a wonderful world to be alive in.

Jeez, RIP https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/driv ... /10567288/

I read the off ramps are closed during the race; imagine if that happened whilst the race was on? 8O

Saudi and Vegas have been successful recent street tracks, so here's hoping it's another, plus if it replaces Circuit de Catalunya, I won't be mad

Fuck street races. :x I already stopped watching F1 in 2018, and once again they're doing such a good work to lose their old fans for good. :slaphead: By 2026 I'll probably only watch selected rounds like Silverstone, Monza, Spa and Suzuka (if those 2 are even in the calendar then).

Maybe there's a chance they do a night race, so you can't see that lovely vista.

Plot twist: sections of the track will be inside those warehouses, making it the HISTORY FIRST!1!!11 indoor F1 race.

Do it if you dare, F1. Do it. In winter time. Inside is always heated and dry, even if it rains outside. Put the "1" back in F1 and make them earn their wage.

too bad this badland doesn't even rain to make the tunnel sections a dry into a wet trap

funny that they can race in Madrid during the winter, now is 14C and sunny, quite optimal

It literally can't be any worse than the annual procession of Barcelona, so I say bring it on

It can be just as bad, I guess, but it can't be any worse.

Domenicali has already stated that he sees no reason why Barcelona would need to go.

2026 will have 30 races. You read it here first.

They will do anything to get rid of Max :whistling:
Seriously though, if it goes to 30 races he likely will call it quits and others too probably.

Teams would need 2 crews which would cut into their budget.....
Fans would get burned out.....

such a great idea.
