Still think the best solution to everything is a breakaway series.

F1 can fuck around and do what it wants because it has no competition. F1 these days is just a marketing exercise disguised as a racing series. Someone needs to come along and create a racing series with very few gimmicks, just focus on the racing.

Of course it won't work, but us nuffies will like it while it lasts.

My solution is a stupid one. Keep the sprint races as is, 4-5 random races a year (I wouldn't have them as street circuits) - but make the starting grid reverse championship order :whistling:

It's contrived as fuck and the geriatrics will complain that it's not real racin, but its the easiest way to bring us racing. Sponsors on cars at the back of the grid will get more air time. We will get 10x more overtakes. Those who are horny for a good bit of wreckin' will be satisfied.

the problem with extending race distances is that they'll come up with dumb rules to avoid a procession, making it a bigger farce ie stage racing like Nascar and mandatory pit windows

I guess they'll do it like is being done to touring car racing, instead of a 300km race make it 2 separate 150km races on sunday and if you crash on the first you won't take part on the second

At least certain races would benefit from longer distance, like Monza. This year Verstappen's final time was 1:13:41.143, in other words 73 minutes. You could already call that a sprint race!

I wanna see 3h races, or 4h races (at locations where drivers won't faint but still have to work for the money). Bernie's double points could be used for Spa 4h and Suzuka 4h. Obviously the size of the gas tank needs to be bigger unless refueling is allowed.

There are other benefits. Since today all incidents will trigger (V)SC, so much time is wasted under caution. In the 90s it was almost guaranteed that there was green racing from start to finish, but today as much as 20%(?) of the race duration might occur behind the SC. It should be compensated by 20% longer race or by adding laps accordingly like BTCC does.

Also there've been so many races where it started raining during the podium ceremony. If only the race had been little bit longer. But obviously if the race ends later, the weather gods make sure the rain will come later as well, so you cannot win

apparently Stroll haven't arrived at Austin yet, can anyone confirm he's being sacked this weekend?

The organisers didn't help by putting up a poster with all the drivers... except Stroll.

Apparently they have since removed Drugovich from the poster. Stroll is scheduled to take part in the first press conference tomorrow.

Did anyone catch that graphic with the driver standings? They included the 2 medical cars on the rankings, lol.

Expecting once again that airplane crash to happen. How many near-misses can there be?
