One for the new car thread, I guess - the '11th team' car from Pitt's movie.

I saw some rumours that it would 'lead' the formation lap in addition to various lapping sessions between the real series, but I figured it more likely it would be on the dummy grid and then take off beforehand, like the safety car does.

If it was Leslie Neilsen he'd try and make a fictional story about Shirley Valentine trying to get into F1...

I wonder if the movie car being largely black (with some logos from Mercedes) means they can adapt onboard footage from the Mercedes F1 cars in the race?

I read they're fitting some tiny movie cameras to the actual F1 race cars too. Hope the race isn't too dull!

As it's a custom F2 car, it's not allowed to race against other F1 cars. Not sure why they wouldn't maybe allow it in a photography/practice session perhaps, maybe in the mudguard wet test next week?

Otherwise a race against CGI rivals will look dodgy as hell!

are they just shooting at Silverstone or production will go to another tracks?

plus they could do it like they do with car ads, where they just use stock captures and change it on chroma key

Hah, Youtube pushed that same clip to me as well

Latest model runs are inconclusive.

GFS says a small amount of rain on Sunday late afternoon
ARPEGE expects mostly rain on Saturday
ICON-EU expects some rain on Saturday (morning) and perhaps some on Sunday

Why doesn’t Pitt just do what every other millionaire does and buy a trackday in one of these cars, no need to go to the effort of making a film just to get behind the wheel of one lol

And there were already complains about it back then. Discussions about track limits and the need for a return to gravel traps were not invented in 2023.
