07 was Kubica scaring me in seeing my first fatal crash in F1.

08 was this thing:

Looks like the forecast went from "let's hope it rains" to "let's hope it doesn't rain". Qualifying rescheduled for Sunday?

there's a great idea that worked in the past that is starting sessions earlier, so they can have a bigger window if weather strikes

Pardon the ignorant question, but what is the air quality status there now? A week ago it seemed like a question if the race would go ahead.

Last time I read (maybe a week ago?), Montreal wasn't too badly affected and air quality was already recovering.

I watched this live, but only just realised the same three drivers were involved in both start accidents 8O

God, I just loved the look of those 1998 cars. Probably my favorite season ever, from an aesthetic sense.

Can't be doing with the slimline 98 cars and grooved tyres any more (did like as a kid though)
1997 is where it's at. Great liveries but better looking chasis to have them on.
The McLaren of 97 *chefs kiss*

Ahhh 1998, 2 start crashes and a lot more through the race.....then 1999 with another big start crash and the multiple wall of champions hit

Just enough action for young me to expect that amount of carnage every year and yet, aside from a small bumping in 2004 I don't think there's been another start crash since and the wall of champions probably will never be hit again in the dry.....*congrats Sebastien Vettel world champion curse operate here plz*

It's more likely someone will run off on the First chicane and hit the wall there or on the exit of the 2nd chicane than a start crash/wall of champions moment.

Just 90s F1 things, raising expecations then never delievering again :D

The short cut through T1 has been closed with a strategic wall placement

Democractic vote, by hand. Who are in favor of bringing back gravel? If not at Turn 1, then at least at Turn 13.

Despite staying up until 5am to watch that race, I couldn't sleep that morning.

It was an early morning race for me as well, and I remember waking up my wife with a very loud yelp of "Fucking Hell". I thought he was a goner too.

Spoiler:

Great way to still have tarmac but get rid of the oh-I-just-go-over-here-instead laziness. Nailed this one.

Drivers should be punished for making mistakes or putting themselves in a sketchy position.

Unfortunately, I think stuff like this used to happen more often because teams either hadn't properly figured out how the hang the front wing or hadn't yet mastered working with carbon fibre in these areas.
