Pretty insane this is the first normal race track since Bahrain. Only (semi)street circuits for 3 months straight. Anyway, after Imola cancellation, I'm just glad to see some old school gravel traps and pastoral scenery in the background. I'm sure the drivers feel less-stressed as well, since running wide doesn't always mean instant damage to the car...wait a second, am I praising giant run-off areas? Anyway, looking forward to see F1 cars go flat in the last corner without the chicane. Thank god it's gone. 15 years we suffered. Not that one corner makes a big difference, as it was already called Borecelona before the chicane. But at least from onboard the lap is more flowing now. Some models show light rain for Sunday, but I think Monaco used all rain quota for a while. Not expecting wet Sunday until Spa. |

I expect nothing of this race, so it can only get better, right? Next stop: Canada (and Le Mans inbetween). |

Just like Monaco, Qualifying will be fun (because of the final 2 corners) but unless it rains at a random moment, expect nothing God, I hope returning the final 2 corners means Pirelli fuck up the tyre durability or something because this race needs a bunch of random punctures to liven it up |

No chicane? Do we know if 13 and 14 will be easy flats on low fuel? Or is this the first time they're running this configuration? |

last time they ran without chicanes was 2006 but now they have put DRS on the beggining of the straight so expect easy passes or a huge DRS train |

Great to finally see the removal of that chicane. I'm confident it will improve the racing, but there are a few variables. Will the final corners be flat out? Or will they be very high speed, creating a ton of dirty air for the following cars? Either way, I don't think it will spread the cars out any further than the chicane already did, and it will be far nicer to watch the cars at speed. DRS zone looks huge, though. As codename said, the extra tyre wear will hopefully provide some entertainment. Or extra tyre management... |

Catalonia has been in a drought for over 2 years now, but there is actually a forecast of showers for Sunday. |

I'm still pissed about Covid, because it prevented us from getting wet Spanish GP for the first time since 1996. According to historic weather data, it rained all day when the GP was originally due to take place on 10 May. https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/ ... 5-10/daily |

First "normal" track of the season, we will finally find out the true pecking order of the field. |

It'll be a Red Bull walkover unless the cars fail |

This is one of those weekends to pray hard to the racing gods for a Red Bull double DNF + Alonso home win. |

First full GP weekend I'll have managed to watch as a fan in a very long time. Even if it is Spain, I'm looking forward to it. |

I didn't know that they were going back to the full pre chicane layout. Using the older hairpin on back straight. Not the sharp stop. Old school. |

RIP LF tyres. Hopefully it's a 2 stopper just because of all the fast turns. |
