Say whatever you want, I love Monaco. For me, it's the only true street circuit on the calendar. The rest are just parking lots with barriers. Ok, Baku comes close, but even it has sections that are wider than many traditional circuits. I would rather see more Monaco-esque circuits than Miami-esque tracks, but there really isn't another Monaco in the world. Only Pau. But F1 car has overgrown Pau, and some say Monaco as well. That's why we're left with bland Valencia/Sochi-type of "street circuits". Which is a great shame. Anyway, looking forward to the weekend. I had troubles to come up with any meaningful things to do last weekend when Imola round was cancelled (yeah, I need to have a life). At least the schedule is full with F3, F2 and Porsches supporting F1. Interesting to see they have split F2 qualifying, even though the grid only consists of 22 cars, while Porsche Supercup has 29 drivers and no split-qualifying. At the moment it looks like a dry weekend, except for Friday. The transparent bar indicates passing showers that might be heavy, but no constant rain. https://www.foreca.com/102993458/Monaco ... d-forecast |

Most boring race of the season, but I´ll fight anyone who dares to remove it from the calendar! No Monaco, no complete F1 season (covid exception) |

If FOM are producing, I'm sure it will feel less boring this year. They know what to show (where ormally we are clueless whats happening during a race), and if they bring back the classic angles that show the speed more, it will look great on tv. Even with zero overtakes, it can be exciting imo |

McLaren is suffering from the Lotus effect. The glory days are long gone so they just rely on retro liveries |

Looks like an Alpha Tauri with an orange wing. Which makes me think: an orange car with silver wings would have been much more iconic |

For some reason I still can't get used to Practice 1/2 being moved from Thursday to Friday. |

It will be the 1085th GP. Since Silverstone 1950. Not the 1085th GP of Monaco. |

Reminding all that even though F1 starts on Friday, we have 2h 15min of track action today already. Risk of thunder pretty high today, and for Sunday both ECMWF and GFS models show some chance of rain. But whether it will affect the race remains to be seen. Last year the rain was more of an annoyance than a helper in terms of entertainment. FIA is to implement some sort of Code 60 this weekend during the VSC and SC periods, but I can't really decipher the details. They're still talking about delta times and not specific km/h limit. So I don't know how much things are changing. But since this will be the first Monaco race for Wittich as a Race Director, I reckon we won't see many VSC periods even though Monaco marshals could easily work under VSC especially if Code 60 is in use. But knowing Wittich, he will probably trigger red flag for any crash or stopped car. |

Moreover the numerical Grand Prix for a given location is almost exclusively given in Roman numbers Yeah, I was missing F1, even Monaco can't possibly be any less exciting than the Baku/Miami experience. |

I'm hoping that Ferrari will have good pace over one lap, qualify 1 - 2, and then create some kind of entertaining train in the race as their pace suffers on the longer runs. Sadly, the reality is that Charles will probably bin it in qualifying instead. |

As long as he does it after getting pole... No doubt Ferrari will mess up either way. |

Ferrari could pull a Rosberg with one of their drivers and then they'll claim "it was going over the limit for pole" |
