If you think you should have stopped then tell them you gonna stop Lewis.
That’s the difference with Russell. He does it

The inadvertent block from an Alpha Tauri really didn't help either!

Mercedes can build the best car on the grid, it won't help much when his team-mate has him in his pocket. I don't think he wants to spend 3-4 years as the number 2 driver.

lol, first half of the season mercedes were very publicly running lewis' car as a test car to fix their porpoising - second half of the season george has been losing the points battle. that said, george is fast, deserves to be at a top team, and will be a worthy heir whenever lewis decides to retire (i'm guessing another 3-5 years depending on the next power unit regs).

After 11th race, Austria: lewis 19 points behind on Russell.
After Brazil: lewis 25 points behind on Russell.

Your point is invalid

sorry for the delayed reply - i'm slow at maths. this really comes down to where you are counting from. excluding lewis' dnf at spa lewis has been outdriving (and out-pointing) russell. qualifying results are even more revealing. and even if the points didn't add up it wouldn't automatically invalidate the point i was making - that's a false equivalent. lewis outdrove rosberg in 2016 and still lost the championship

Alfa Romeo keeps the 6th place, as Bottas' 5th place on Imola means they're still ahead.

Now you’re just twisting facts and creating your own set of rules to not admit that Russell was better than Lewis.

If I'm not wrong, max's help in Brazil would have give Perez 2 more points.

Being 2nd instead of 3rd gives Charles 3 more points.

So, Checo would have lost it for 1 point.

Hamilton finished 6th in WDC standings - officially his worst season ever.

And 3rd time he's defeated by his own teammate.

Abu Dhabi really wants to set a tradition, but their only tradition is for nightime boredom

And if you only look at the last race, because that is more convenient for me to make a point, Stroll outscored Vettel and must be the better driver of the two.

Hamilton struggled more than Russell in the beginning or was more of a testdriver than Russell, and was at the same level at best in the 2nd half. But at no point of the season Hamilton really dominated Russell.
