Possibly, but possibly not.

I think Liberty Media would prefer that the race gets cancelled. Gives them a good excuse to replace Spa with Dubai, Kuwait or some other oil tyranny. But let's hope it will be the best race of the century, so they are forced to keep it, lest they lose all fans.

Looking forward to see how many drivers will get stuck into the new gravel traps. No more going wide without punishment

Even it the race is great, Spa won't be back next year.

Doubt it will rain, all forecasts say a very small chance of a shower on Sunday. It's going to be rather warm this week though and temps will drop next weekend so storms might be brewing.

Also how will Ferrari throw this one away?

meanwhile Domenicali claims that F1 will not sell its soul

even parrots can speak so let's see him declaring that negotiations were tough but unsuccessful, while they add another street race in America and a night race in Qatar

I can honestly say, as a Yank, that I'd give up all three US races to save the European heritage tracks on the schedule.

They promised the return of gravel to Eau Rouge and thatsradillionactually and instead, they gave us this:

Maybe F1 should leave here before they butcher it any more...

Oh dear God. Have they gone all Paul Riccrad with the paint? I honestly believe that a lot of the big smashes at that corner is down to the run off, not the lack of it, rather the invitation of it allowing drivers to take unreasonable and dangerous entries into it.

Unless they put down a great big gravel trap where the wall used to be at the exit, that is an open invitation for drivers to straight line the corner or try unrealistic overtaking attempts.

If they are going to use Hubert as an example I hate to tell them that that accident was going to happen regardless of the removal of the inside wall.

Everyone who wants rain must forget last year. That should not have been a race.

Media are starting to get filled by current and former drivers, fans and other people involved in racing stating that Spa should stay on the calendar. I hope Liberty gets the message. Probably not though, why would they listen. There's money to be earned on other places.

If I was Lewis, I'd come to Friday's press conference and state: "I will retire from F1 if Spa won't return next year. I'm dead serious. So, make your choice, Liberty Media." And then other drivers would join him, saying "I'm Spartacus".

That would show 'em.

knowing Lewis, he'll say at the press conference that after the summer break, he is better prepared than ever, or hungrier than ever, or something similar.

Article says 2019 was the last year we had a GP in Germany. Clearly they forgot 2020 when F1 raced at the Nürburgring.

What corners have changed from last year? That looks like La Source with gravel on the exit. I like. Eau Rouge visually looks meh, but it's pretty much the same (the left hand wall has been moved back?). Anywhere else with gravel? Les Combes was always better with grass, so you couldn't cut the corner and gain time. Bruxelles/Rivage is a corner that really needs its gravel back.

I think there are pictures in the track thread in the general motorsport forum. But IIRC Malmedy has gravel back on the outside, Bruxelles has the same tarmac-gravel setup as Abbey, as does Blanchimont.

It seems that they also smoothened the angle of the wall that Magnussen smacked in the Renault in 2016. That one was ridiculous to begin with.

I'm excited for Spa for the first time since years. The recent 2017-2021 era with ridiculous amounts of downforce (Pouhon flat or almost flat in qualy, Stavelot 2 flat,...), and cars that can't follow each other in corners, made it dull in terms of multi-car racing and unappealing in single car racing.
