Merc have been using fridays as more like pre-season practice recently, trying every wacky set up option under the sun to try and get a handle on their car

Even IF they've got somewhere (big IF), they'll still be behind Red Bull and Ferrari in set up work, tyre strategies and everything else those 2 teams have learnt while they can actually push these new rules forward while Merc was stuck trying to cure bouncing
The best Merc can hope for is a more comfortable 4th/5th and unreliability from those ahead of them
Even their strategy of "turning the engine up to fuck" isn't gonna work since it's the red bull that has the best engine this year, it seems

I guess is not worth for them to set engine power to 11 just to go kaputt halfway through the race, better save some points by finishing than trying to win and ending up zeroed out

it might be worth the risk. if you can run behind Ferrari and Ferrari is being Ferrari again they might prevent Lewis beating his longest streak without a win.

one good shot for them is risking at races where Ferrari and Red Bull are on a brink of engine change, that if reliability takes the toll on both and awards Lewis with a lucky win on sunday

According to the radar, it looks like the rain will arrive in 1½ hours, that is, for the W Series race. But will it clear before the qualifying?

I mean I wouldn't judge anyone based on their practice pace, could be all kinds of issues behind the scenes we don't know about

If it is that way after Qualifying, yeah, you're right
