Alpine didn't offer Alonso the longer contract, backed Ocon completely (Ocon is a clown as a teammate, you could see something is wrong when he acted 3 times like a complete idiot on the start and mid race to Alonso), but waited too long with Piastri
Horner once said for Renault, they wanted high class but only want to pay for economy.

Indeed if true than alpine has played bad cards.
But Alonso burning his bridges again with the same team who gave him 2x wdc took him back from mclaren and his wec campaign and he still ditch them with contract politics. Savage!
