Technically the format used in 2003 meant that qualifying also took place on a Friday.

Ah yes, the 2003 strange format. That first "qualifying session" determined running order for the real qualifying session :whistling: :whistling:

What was that Saturday race in 1985?

saturday races were very common in the british commonwealth states, since they reserved the sunday church services

actually all sports in Britain were like that for a long time

First British GP to be held on Sunday was Brands Hatch 1976. Silverstone continued to be held on Saturday until 1983.

The South African GP at Kyalami was never held on Sunday until the 1992-93 last hurrah. It was held on Monday twice in the 1960s. The East London race was held on Friday once (New Year's Day 1965).

The whole investment on new graphics dedicated to this new format makes me wonder if there will be a sunk cost that makes them unwilling to drop this idea even if it sucks.

This will probably decide forever whether we are stuck with sprint races or not.

They’ll keep it regardless of the result and massive backlash. It will be put into place for every weekend after the break.
