The upside of this season is having such a different and cool GP name.

Hopefully, we can build-up on what we saw in the Austrian GP.

So they removed a DRS zone, like Brundle suggested?

Looking forward to this new circuit. It looks like a decent one on paper.

Why the hell are they still doing a full practice schedule just a week later? Seems like an abridged practice schedule and a qualifying session should be fine.

Well unless there is vastly different weather expected for the race, can't imagine teams will get any new useful data from the practice sessions. Perhaps a good opportunity to test some parts for development.

Invert the DRS zones! No DRS on straights! Only DRS in turns, but forced and for the car in front! I'd watch that...

Was the previous DRS zone between T1 and T3?

Mercedes reckon their gearbox issue is caused by a buildup of 'electronic noise'. That isn't something you can fix with a simple sensor change. They say they won't have to completely redesign the gearbox, but it does sound like they are stuck with it for now. I wonder if the drivers will be told to hold back from the start this time.

I used an old track layout from the Bernie days of F1 website as the one from there looks awful, that's why it doesn't have all the DRS

I once proposed that but nobody payed attention. You can make all the cars run with DRS on all the times and only close on the turns (for the car trying to pass) if you reach within 1 second, allowing to close by yet making overtaking more daring

Fulfill TV requirements.

This just feels weird. It's like a weird sense of deja vu.

You'd think they'd have contract clauses for special circumstances.

On the other hand I kind of like that they didn't mess with the schedules. Those reverse grid and other sprint/double race ideas were brought up again during the pause.

It is now Tuesday and local rain forecast that much ahead is simply useless.

Give them a powerup where you can select the car in front and put their engine into Ferrari mode.

Wait, silly me. That would feel exactly as if you had DRS

Don't just invert the DRS zones, invert the DRS. Stick the rear wings on upside down and enjoy the fireworks

or make drivers who make into Q3 to start the races with their front spoilers without the wings, attaching them only in the first pit stop, mandatory to change under green condition

and make drivers who slow down on purpose at Q2 to start without it anyway

there ya go, race start mayhem

This made me think - why not make an Attack Mode like in Formula E, but reversed? Every driver would have to take a wider line at some point of the track twice a race and every time a driver did that, his engine would be in Ferrari Mode for 2 minutes.
