Red Bull are protesting based on a regulation that states "no adjustment may be made to any suspension system while the car is in motion" Reading between the lines of what Horner said earlier, it seems Red Bull's protest is more to get clarification (i.e. cover their own arses) before they stick their own DAS system on their cars. I could be wrong but I don't think there's any expectation of the protest "succeeding" So... isn't that exactly what the system does? |

It does bring an extra dimension to the racing and I can imagine a bit of practice wouldn't be luxurious... |

haha Racing Point could be the Lotus from 2012-13, with a very competent car, but with a Grosjean-like driver in one of the seats |

It's beautiful to see the 2-Axis steering wheel in Mercedes...it solved that issue they had with low adherence in the straights....so basically, it's gonna be really hard to beat Mercedes again. But Racing Point is definetly the team that will cheer up everyone coz I'm sure there will be surprises. |

Quote: Red Bull argued that the DAS was a moveable aerodynamic device and that it was an adjustment to the suspension while the car was in motion. .. The system has been banned by a change of rules for 2021, but governing body the FIA had already said it considers DAS to be legal under the current rules. Following Red Bull's protest, stewards at the season-opening Austrian Grand Prix declared that the system "would be illegal if it was not part of the steering system". But it was a steering device because it "realigns the two front wheels via the same central mechanism that conventional steering does" and it "remains under the full control of the driver". https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/53285413 |

So can the teams without DAS implement it now without having to redesign half their car? Or is it an easy thing to add? Man this season is going to be a walkover for Mercedes |

The rumour is that Red Bull have already come up with something else that is controlled by moving the steering wheel and they wanted formal clarification from the FIA on whether anything controlled by the driver moving the steering wheel is legal or not. It is legal, so we shall see if the rumour is correct. |

I'm sorry to keep bringing this up; but why is the DAS system legal? It appears to directly break the rules of: 1. adjusting the car set up whilst it is in motion 2. making changes to the car under parc ferme conditions 3. possible safety complications |
