It's a shame they ruined T8 with a tarmac runoff. Get out out of jail free card. Would have taken courage to have driven it as fast as possible with grass and gravel to punish mistakes instead of the ability to run wide and just keep your foot in it.

Hold your horses there chap, we're doing motor racing here, you wouldn't want any sort of material or physical damage to ever happen on here would you?

Speaking about corners that need courage, the Oldsterreichring or the old Silverstone with SAFER/TecPro barriers and current car technology would be a safe racetrack. Racing would suck, but it's not like it isn't already the case now!

the runoff at turn 8 should have a very abrasive tarmac to puncture tires just like when a nascar car spins

And qualy already starts at 23:00 European time, imagine it getting delayed because of rain again.

they're quite brave for setting qualy start so late

generally on oval racing the start early to avoid the rain

Did they add astroturf at the exit of some corners or is it just green painting?

Love how it's been raining steadily for nearly 5 days and will continue, but Sunday will be dry lol.

So Vettel wi... oh wow I nearly said that

You don't get to say that! It won't work if you do it!

I only have 3 things to say on this forum as it is, let me do my thing

New Ferrari floor will mean Vettel will lap the field and Ferrari 1-2, Haas 3-4, Sauber 5-6 and Mercedes engine failures mean Sebastian Vettel world champion 2018 at this race, probably before the end of qualifying.

Just noticed Lando was less than 2 tenths off of Nando in FP1, in the wet, having done the same 9 laps. That's not too shabby.

Sean Gelael, meanwhile, was 1.4s off of Gasly and slower than Stroll...

Given how the safety car has just nearly aquaplaned off the track several times in the first sector I don't think the session is starting anytime soon.

EDIT - They actually started the session
