Still no McLaren running

The team that need this the most doesn't manage to put a car on track.

Can't they have both cars up there? If one breaks that they can use the other one?

Well then they'll just have double amount of engines to rebuild.

Palmer is a GP2 champion, you'd expect more

Should you? Palmer's junior career was utterly mediocre apart from that one GP2 season. I expect nothing from him apart from what we've seen.

It was Palmer's third year so he knew the cars and some tracks more than his rivals.

Third year? I think you mean fourth ;) And he had the best equipment with the best team of the time. Whereas his title rival drove for a team was clearly not as good and never got to grips with GP. We'll ignore his season of GP2 Asia and two seasons of F2.

Palmer is the sixth most experienced driver in GP2 history.

and I thought 2007 was rock bottom for Honda, but at least there was Toyota to share the failure spoils

Plus iirc he was also gifted the huge championship lead he had because the only other people capable of beating him were too busy crashing into each other before the Summer break, when they came back with their heads screwed on properly and started beating him, it was too late to overcome the massive lead he had.

That is Stoffel you're talking about, who had a good start to the season and then had a run of incredibly poor results only to come back mid season to be the man of the second half of the year. Nasr was also good but Carlin was nowhere as a good team versus DAMS and ART.

Oh the irony that the same guy is still outpacing him whenever his shitbox of a car lasts more than a few hundred yards...

I do recall that GP2 season in 14 being Palmer finishing most races and being consistent rather than having pace. He crashed out on lap 1 of the last race too.

Has it ever been this yearly in the season to have team orders? Well, Barrichello hardly ever was ahead of Schumacher anyway, so it wasn't a big problem. But let's hope we don't see Austria 2002 kind of disgrace in the future. If that's the case, I think Bottas would rather have stayed in Williams.

Multi 21 seb, multi 21

Then fact they were ignored doesn't mean they weren't issued

Is F1 testing on Bahrain? Totally missed this.

I think Palmer scored quite a few poles there.

It took years for Nasr to win even his first ever GP2 race. He wasn't being able to win even those Sunday BS races(the ones with inverted grids which typically allowed mediocre drivers, like Javier Villa, to win quite a few GP2 races).

I don't even remember Nasr ever scoring a pole. That GP2 championship had 2 utterly mediocre drivers fighting for it.

Talking about mediocre drivers, is Magnussen a paydriver? If not, I expect him to be given the boot too. I remember the hype around "K-mag" when he was announced to replace Perez at Mclaren. People were like: "Now Mclaren will have a fast driver again" downplaying Jenson and Sergio who are both way better drivers than the Danish

In the same race there was a team order at Mercedes as well, with Nico being instructed to hold station behind Lewis. Nico obeyed that order despite protestations over the radio.

Robert Kubica did 70+ laps in the old GP3 car at the Franciacorta Circuit today.

Kubica was one of my favourite drivers before he had that awful accident, would be pretty cool to see him have another go at F1
