The idea of using parts of the Indy track was a good idea, but worked out badly. They should have used more of the original oval, not just one corner and half a straight. It could or should have something unique like the long straights we had on Hockenheim.
the fia wouldn't allow that, remember reading that they have a rule which limits the option of rovals to get a fia grade.

I think a potential problem with bringing back active suspension is that your going to make the cars more stable which is going to make them a lot easier & more consistent to drive under certain situations which I don't feel will be a benefit to the racing.

Cars with passive suspension for example will be unstable over bumps, They will be a less stable platform under heavy braking & at times fast changes of direction which is often where you see drivers make mistakes which could lead to a fast car qualifying further back or in races situations that can lead to good bits of racing.

Creating a situation where the platform is more stable & consistent is going to remove the likelihood of mistakes been made, It's going to further reduce braking distances & remove some of the feel that drivers have & put it a bit more in the hands of engineer's & computers who setup & control the active systems & I'm just not totally sure thats a good direction to go.

Maybe i'm wrong however?

I've missed this part. Are they actually proposing this? :-o

Seriously? Is this a Ross Brawn plan? This is the best they can come up with to improve overtaking?

If they misunderstand (or more likely, fully understand but don't want to do anything about because F1 needs to splooge money on their wind tunnels and is too far gone down that road to do anything about it) the overtaking problem this badly, F1 is doomed.

What bumps exist on modern day F1 tracks that unsettle passive suspension systems? All are almost smooth as silk.

And anyway, current passive suspension systems are so sophisticated that there wouldn't be much difference in moving to active suspension.

Well...maybe with them they could go in a direct straight line straight after Casino Square in Monaco

Happy to accept increased hosting fees? Wasn't the who reason the race failed in the first place was because it never made a dime?

When the most corrupt organisation in the world, otherwise known as the EU, doesn't want you in their club, you'd think the message would sink in, but alas it seems not if Turkey wants to pay for another GP while most people in the country are either bankrupt, starving or a mixture of the two.

Priorities Turkey, priorities...

Is there any profitable GP out there? Most GPs are funded with public money because they can't make anywhere near the amount necessary for the hosting fees.

Everything you say about Turkey is correct but why pick on them if Brazil has been doing just that, for decades now?!

Because we're talking about Turkey, not Brazil.

No big surprise really, but still sucks for Bottas.

Has it ever been this yearly in the season to have team orders? Well, Barrichello hardly ever was ahead of Schumacher anyway, so it wasn't a big problem. But let's hope we don't see Austria 2002 kind of disgrace in the future. If that's the case, I think Bottas would rather have stayed in Williams.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

So I'm guessing Felipe Nasr got into Felipe Nasr's Twitter account so he could say what everyone else, bar the Palmer family, are thinking? Good strategy I hope, because someone at Renault needs to wake up and get rid of that waste of grid space.

He wouldn't be the first famous person to own a fake fan-account to spill his beans, he might just have mistakenly used the wrong account.

Honda's epic incompetence will certainly go down in history, and it will be remembered still in the 2060s.
