Don't like the nose, obviously, but IMO the front wing is a bit too much as well.

Blame Whitmarsh!!!

Is it because Mercedes wasn't going to share any information about the engine because of their Honda connection that they just found out about this?

I actually quite like the Caterham, but then I loved the Ferrari 312T4/5. It's a pretty radical design for a small team.

How come there are no tyre markings (i.e. Pirelli) on the Caterham tyres? Used tyres from last year or so?

What a fantastic looking Formula 1 car! Love it! Best looking thing on the grid for a long time. And a Swede is driving it. :)

It's not only McLaren but also Red Bull, who haven't ventured out because some parts of their suspension setup don't match up.

Maybe the new noses are mandated by the FIA to attract more women to the sport?

Someone earlier in the thread (can't remember who; sorry!) said Pirelli have provided cold weather-spec tyres for this test. I would assume they just haven't bothered painting them up, but Mercedes' press images from this morning certainly showed them.

The more I look at this (the more I like it), the more it seems to have had an awful lot of work put into it. There seems to be a lot of work on that front wing to split the airflow around the front wheels, and the area in between the wheels is now just a gaping hole into which air can be fed round to the back of the car. There's literally nothing in the way between the nose tip and the splitter, which can't be a bad thing.

I have to wonder if Caterham are about to make a move away from Marussia towards the bigger teams.

Yeah, I'm liking the variety.

I wonder how long it will last until the teams find out which is the best solution, as the they will all copy it anyway.

I also like the variety of designs, but I think we don't see teams switching out from their first design significantly during the first leg of the season due the crash testing regulations. Maybe if someone needs to go for Spec-B, then there might be major changes in noses, sidepods and floors. Those parts work together so just copying leader's nosecone alone isn't probably going to give big advantage.

IMO, Mercedes is best looking, then the Ferrari and Red Bull. Caterham is weird and their Sidepods are like from the early 2000's, they're much bulkier than what others have. Not sure if that's going to help them, they might lose rear end grip due smaller air flow for the diffuser.

Force India has the best livery IMO. That black looks amazing on track.

What is the reason for Red Bull not heading out yet?

That Caterham is the best worst looking car. It doesn't look like they just added that dildo afterwards like torro rosso, sauber, williams and FI. The more I look at it, the more I like it.
