That's not a new chassis. In fact that isn't new at all. That's identical to last years car.

Image

Literally, identical. Even the aero package is the same. All they've done is sand down the top of the nose a bit to get it lower, presumably to make it legal.

I doubt that is the new car. It has a fin on it, and I thought that was illegal this year.

But according to the article on GPUpdate, that is supposed to be an image of the 2012 car released to the media by HRT.

If anyone suffers from the long winter break, get some tissues and turn on ESPN Classic.

You can thank me later

LOL I should follow more of the F1 news during winter break.

The first 2012 car I saw was the Mercedes on some guy's newspaper back page, today in the train. I swear to God I thought it was the page folding that caused the illusion, had to brush my eyes a couple times before actually believing it and realising how disgustingly horrifying that shit looks. Fuck.

Some observations from Sebastien Buemi, translated from German

"McLaren and Force India I like the best after Red Bull. Hamilton and Hulkenberg can slow down late and early on the gas. The car jerks not on the front when they accelerate. Look how early he [Hulkenberg] can go back on the gas. The McLaren looks good. The car has grip. Not quite as much as the Red Bull, but close. [Alonso drives past] Oh dear, that does not look so good. Alonso plays with the gas. There traction is missing. The Caterham is not so bad. They have made progress. The Red Bull lies ahead for me. Then come Force India and McLaren . They are not that far away"

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

And in the full article Sebastien himself makes that exact point.

http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/form ... 19443.html

I did like his observation on how Vettel would begin to fall off the racing line in the corner as he got to the end of a stint but that as soon as new tyres were put on he was right back on the line.
