Further to the earlier discussion of a couple of months ago on whether or not its subject is "important" enough to win an Oscar, here's a brief but interesting review of the film (and TT3D) by one of Britain's most well-known film critics, Mark Kermode, who says he has no interest in F1 at all but loved the film. The director was going to be on his radio show today talking about it. So clearly it has wider appeal than just sports fans and it is getting some mainstream media attention

It probably won't win the Best Doc Oscar (this is the Oscars we're talking about) but I wouldn't be surprised if it got a nomination

Today is the release in Germany. Hardly any mainstream cinemas picked this one up. Here it's only shown in a small cinema for less than a week

It's the same thing in France. Only 4 cinema show it!
If I want to watch it, I have to do 500 kms!

As a heads up, the Senna film is out on Blu-Ray in Japan now. It's region-free and has the English language audio track, and there are people on Amazon.co.uk selling it already.

Have ordered :).

Don't buy "Senna: The Will to Win" however. It's shite.

Will the film be released in Belgium?

Edit: found out it won't.

So second question: where to download it?

I think as F1 fans we shouldn't illegally download this film, the more people that buy it the more Universal studios will get the hint that motorsports is popular.... plus stealing from the film makers in this instance would suck

I've got the Blu Ray sitting at home waiting to be watched. Decided I won't go watch it at the cinema as to be honest I don't think I could make it throught the whole film without getting a bit choked up. Would rather be at home with my own thoughts.

They apparently had quite a long review of the film on one of the TV channels here, it's going to be shown during the international film festival here :D

Well I'd have to travel 80 miles just to see it. I love motorsport, but I'm not traveling that for a movie. I'll buy the DVD Release in the UK however.

Release is technically today here, but actually, mainstream release isn't until the 21st... bit of a longer wait for me then...

It's on at my local Cineworld from today. I'm watching it with a mate tomorrow. Our respective wives didn't seem so interested, so they're watching some shitty chick-flick at the same time.
