Not rumours. Campos admitted De La Rosa and Gené have been the first drivers he talked to.

So a F3000 championship and a GP2 championship makes you shit?

You're a dead set fucking idiot. Just like how you were an expert on indycars when you'd never seen a race. Can you just stop posting.

He did well to get those titles indeed, but his 2004 season in the Jordan was not good... Nobody felt the need to give him a drive in the last year or 2 in F1, so guessing he wont get one again..... Is a surprise, he wasnt given more chances, but i never rated him anyway.

You're right. He was a constant front runner though. 6 victories from 2001 to 2003, runner up in 2002 and 3rd in 2003.

Why the hell would u talk to pedro de la rosa and Gene First? there too old, and most young drivers are faster anyway. So stupid, i wish they would just leave f1.

Campos should get Grosjean and Petrov. 1st and 2nd in the gp2 so far. screw the old and slow experianced drivers, bring in the quick young drivers.

There are number of people who complain about certain drivers.

Good as number two driver, yes. Since Button is kicking everybody's ass just about everywhere. Campos are starting from the stratch so they need someone with experience just like when Force India signed Fisichella out of nowhere. And who says Petrov, Grosjean or Perez will adapt to F1 with no problems? I suspect neither of them will, while Gene or de la Rosa will add precious technical contribution to the team which none of the rookies will. Let's get real, Campos won't trouble anyone beyond last two rows, even Force India should kick their butts, so it's all about filling into the sport rather then signing promising youngsters who never got used to running at the back of the field.

Precisley. I remember when de la Rosa was rumoured to be getting what is now Heikki's seat in the McLaren and the outcry that sparked from members on the old forum, yet when he was given his chance he managed to score podiums and get a decent amount of points, but most of all, he brought the car home pretty much each time. How invauable is that to a new team starting out in F1? They won't learn much with young drivers crashing out or breaking the car will they? With de la Rosa and Gene, youve got two guys who have worked with both McLaren and Ferrari as test drivers and know a hell of a lot about setting up a F1 car. Think of all the technical aspects they could bring to the team. Fair enough, they could do a crap job, but you could use that crap year as a springboard for improvement into the next, with what you learned during the crap year. If Campos has tried to get these drivers then hes a very wise man in my opinion.

How do you think Rubens got a seat this year? Its not age its experience. De la Rosa has been a test driver for what, 6 years? Gene has been one for 8-9 years if im right (apart from sub driving at Williams he last raced in 99 yeah?)

Gene never drove for Williams in 1999. He drove for Minardi for the whole season in 1999 and 2000. He then subbed for Williams once in 2003 and twice in 2004.

I think it was more than he was rumoured to be getting what is now Lewis' seat. McLaren had signed Alonso for 2007 and then had Hamilton or de la Rosa as their potential 'number 2' options.

And as for having an older driver for technical experience, Force India and Red Bull have proved the value of that, but to have two may be excessive. Also, age could be a factor in de la Rosa's case as he'll be 39 before the 2010 season even starts.

I never said he drove for Williams in 99 lol.

Yeah sorry, I managed to completely misread that.

And under the Equal Opportunity Act, Nigel Mansell will also be given a ride in 2010.

Sounds more like a pissed off ex than the truth.
Doubt she even had time for boys (or girls) during high school. Probably spent all her free time at the track.
