The videos might be filmed by yourself, but that don't necessarily mean you have the right to film them.

Before, I had two youtube account, one personnal with no motorsport videos and one with formula one videos. Both are registered with the same e-mail adress.
The FOM clear both account !

Now I've three youtube accounts with various e-mail adress. One is for motorsport videos.
On Dailymotion, I've 1345 videos and they never clear my account (they just removed Eurosport and formula one videos).

Not many situations would be due to this unless it was military or filmed in some communist dictatorship.

They suspended Antti's entire account :(

Antti has uploaded a tribute pack on Racingunderground with 25 tributes of him (most of them were on Youtube).

Yeah, I shouldn't have rushed my post and added the right to film and publicly broadcast something.

Ok I tried uploading Raikkonen's move on Fisichella, but as soon as it was processed it was being blocked worldwide. Also when I used different names like 'My daughter's first steps' with no tags or whatever added. The videoname was violinlessons.avi so it seems like they are checking the movies now.

Now you can finally see how many "strikes" your account has. And it makes it clear three strikes "may" result in the termination of the account.

Image

It is now obvious only direct removals are counted as strikes. At least I have multiple "this video may have content owned by X but video will stay online and ads may appear next to your video" cases but they're not shown on this page. Neither the videos are shown that have been detected during the uploading process (that automatic detection system, you know).

I understand it always says "your account is not in good standing" if the account has at least one strike. Weirdly though previously it said "is in good standing", before it was possible to see the strikes...

It's been like that for a while hasn't it? I had a look at that page on my account a few months back. I've got one strike so far from ITV Network Limited.

My secondary account just got 9 videos removed (not motorsport related) but since they were all removed by the same copyright owner and at the same, it only counts as 1 strike. This is pretty big difference compared to if they were all counted as individual strikes...

just making sure, WRC (North One) does allow WRC vids on Youtube? (besides the official channel of course)

Has anyone ever considered, oh I dunno, NOT using YouTube? They can't be the only game in town...

I have two videos from 2007 and one Group B video content matched by North One all with the "don't worry, video stays online, possibly with ads" policy, so I think yes.

With this F1 and WRC is like night and day, not only because of clear difference in video removal policies but that WRC official Youtube channel is excellent example how Youtube can be used. Then again the way things currently are, WRC needs to go to near the fans... :D

Update: Dorna sucks :flag:

That's funny. I uploaded 39 2002 USGP videos on Youtube with a sxecondary account (not taking any risks :p), and only 6 have been "blocked in some countries" due to possible copyright infringement.

http://www.youtube.com/user/indyfan33

:E// Canadian laws mention that :

Quote:
Criticism or review

29.1 Fair dealing for the purpose of criticism or review does not infringe copyright if the following are mentioned:
(a) the source; and
(b) if given in the source, the name of the
(i) author, in the case of a work,
(ii) performer, in the case of a performer’s performance,
(iii) maker, in the case of a sound recording, or
(iv) broadcaster, in the case of a communication signal.

Does that mean that if I mention where I got the footage and what the footage is about, I should get immunity ?

I just had an Australia 91 FIA Review taken down all the others are still up.
I just uploaded this one and a few others, it has been months since one was taken down i did link the page to another small forum maybe that was the reason but it does seem very random I have around 36 F1 videos and one other FIA Review.
search "scarsurfing" for the channel
