He wanted to be Senna but today he felt like a real Schumacher |

If Liberty are actually interested in improving the show and showing a modicum of respect to fans, it would be nice to see them reconsider banning team orders this blatant. |

I just wish they'd stop looking so embarrassed and ashamed about it. It was hardly a final lap shuffle |

It's been done at least twice in the last 20 years. We know how it works out. Perhaps they could try something less vague such as only allowing them if it would affect championship standings. |

Bad teamorder just like Austria 2002. Nothing different in my opinion. People will say just as bad as in Germany 2010, but Alonso needed that win to be in the championship hunt. There was no need to give a team order today and in Austria looking at the gap of the championship. |

Hamilton have the authority and freedom to do this and both would be celebrated blah blah blah "he told me to do it" "blessed by Senna" and all that crap he says |

All it would take is one mechanical failure for him and Vettel will be right back in it. If they didn't tell Bottas to move over and Lewis then lost the championship by less than 7 points, they would look exceptionally stupid. This is exactly when you need to use team orders |

Autosport are reporting that Toro Rosso changed the brake duct blanking at the rear before the race, so I reckon they either accidentally rendered them stone-cold or the cars ate the blanking material. |

Suzuka 1991 was the penultimate race, Mansell had retired early on so Senna was already the champion. Can’t see how that is relevant to Hamilton and Bottas with five races still to go. |

I don't mind team orders, but maybe amend the wording that says "Team orders are only permitted when a driver has a championship lead of less than 25 points" |

There was no need to give a team order today and in Austria looking at the gap of the championship. Austria 2002 was near the start of the season and Ferrari had virtually no competition at that time, whereas now Mercedes are in close competition with another team. They are hardly the same. The problem back then and the reason for the outcry was the due to the execution, Barrichello’s execution to be precise. Germany 2010 was a good and necessary use of team orders. The only reason for outcry was that team orders were banned at the time and Massa played the victim very well. Today we shouldn’t be surprised Mercedes used team orders. It’s late in the season and the title battle is still in the balance. James B wrote: gkmotorsport wrote: James B wrote: I just wish they'd stop looking so embarrassed and ashamed about it. Speedworx wrote: I don't mind team orders, but maybe amend the wording that says "Team orders are only permitted when a driver has a championship lead of less than 25 points" This creates more issues than it solves as it is a rule only for the leaders of the championship and will cause problems for teams outside the title battle, who are fighting for constructors points. Case in point is what Force India tried today. |
