I was never frustrated when watching an A1 race, they showed exactly what they needed to show at all times. And usually had the overtakings live and not just in a replay.

What to do if there is no passing are any sort of action on track!?
FOM brings a bit of alternation into a race broadcast by showing scenery or pitlane shots. And I like that to be honest.

The A1 TV team copied a lot from FOM so it wasn't really unique by any means. Don't get me wrong, I liked the way how they covered a race, but there were not superior or the best. Overall I think FOM is still the best racing broadcaster in the world.

+1

Hotel definitely most interesting part of the race. Just great directing.

Go Heidfeld !! Once again ahead of Robert Kubica !

He deserves to win at least one race in F1. The unluckiest guy of the F1 circus. I hope he will drive for McLaren next year ... but it's pretty unlikely. :(

Well, most of the A1GP crew are/were former FOM people!

Do we need a new thread to talk about the overall TV coverage of the whole season or should be take this or the regular F1 TV coverage thread instead?

I didn't read the whole thread but what do you thing about Kobayashi's race ?

Welcome to Toyota for 2010 Kamui  What a driver ! I thought he was not so good but in F1 he is excellent for his debut (as MSC, Vettel, Raikkönen, Alonso, Hamilton...)

What are those red pins on their chests anyway? I reckon it's something british-specific since Jordan isn't wearing it, but what is it, they didn't tell. Something to do with election or did someone special died?

Inspired by SirVanhan and other idiots recently, I'm going to do my own retarded ratings system for this race:

-344 for the final two cars taking too long to line up on the grid
+67 for the red lights taking slightly longer than usual to go out
-1,901 for the lack of a start-line incident
+1,071,984 for Barrichello clipping Webber at turn 1
+6,709,782 for the side-by-side racing into the chicane on the first lap
+62 for the Button/Webber fight early on
-5,888,301 for the race quietening down after that
+934 for Hamilton not running off and winning it easily
+96,981,234,251 for the pitlane tunnel thing
-109,262,190,714 for no-one crashing in the pitlane tunnel thing
+4 for some pretty sunset views
+2,612 for Alguersuari going through the wrong pitbox
+1 for the flashing hotel when I first saw it
-784 for the subsequent 784 times I saw it
+5,908 for the Button/Kobayashi battle
+9,082,124 for the excellent replay of Sutil clipping a bollard
+54 for when Webber ran slightly wide at turn 1
+678 for the Kubica/Buemi collision
+146,109,823,134 for the Button/Webber battle
-5,804 for the TV cameras missing it
+1,289 for Heidfeld finishing 5th
+2,690 for Heidfeld beating Kubica in the championship
-50 for BMW jumping Williams in the championship
+26 for Kobayashi scoring some points
+2 for Kobayashi beating Jarno Trulli
+60,000 for hearing that some teams factor a 'Trulli effect' into their race plans
-19 for the lack of a safety car to spice things up
+1 for Renault being crap thereby providing amusement
+6 for Ferrari being crap thereby providing amusement
-2 for Nakajima failing to score a point all season
-9 for Fisichella having a crap final race
-61 for the race feeling too long
-98 for the night time making me feel sleepy again
-55 for the fact the pizza I ordered didn't arrive until after the race
+34 for the fact it was a nice pizza
+2 for the lack of tons of super-slowmos
-957 for being it in another Middle Eastern country
-65,542 for the poor FOM coverage
-133,839,841,001 for the large amounts of time when nothing happened today

Which comes to 3/10.

Don't know why Jordan isn't wearing one.

We spent more time looking at that stupid hotel* and Bernie and Naomi Campbell talking together than looking at the actual racing = 0

French crew, fucking idiots = 0

0+0 = 0!

* : We're told that we're terrible people who waste too much energy, that we kill the planet and that we need to buy energy saving light bulbs and that kind of shit, yet in Abu Dhabi we had a fucking stupid roof with changing colors that probably consumed more energy in an hour and a half than this whole forum's members in a whole year, how fucking dumb is that?

I gave it a 4.

Random cuts to pit babes in the middle of first laps battle, messing up the camera transitions, bad choice of drivers to follow, focusing on the scenery at inappropriate times...

I wouldn't say that
Race HEI KUB
AUS 10 crash ( while fighting for 2nd place )
MAL 2 engine
CHN 12 13
BAH 19 18
SPA 7 11
MON 11 brakes
TUR 11 7
GB 15 13
GER 10 14
HUN 11 13
EUR 11 8
BEL 5 4
ITA 7 engine
SIN crash 8
JAP 6 9
BRA Fuel 2
ABU 5 10

Overall Kubica DNF 4 times , Heidfeld 2 times.
When both drivers ended their races than it's was 6-5 to Heidfeld. So honestly they were on the same level. Because Kubica had a certain 2nd place in Australia but Vettel decided to make a dumb move.
